MoJNES: 2004

Welcome to my new NES series, Modern JNES, or MoJNES. This NES will be based around the modern day, 2004. Each nation will be created according to the demand of it. You may join as anyone you like, but it will be difficult if you join as a 3rd world country. Only eight players will be allowed in this game, to keep it nice and small. Because of the smallness, I will be able to update hopefully every other day, because theoretically it should only take me half hour at the most.

How to Play

Ok, this should be quite easy to understand, and I’ll explain it as best I can:

For each nation created, I will find the military expenditures. This dollar figure will be the starting budget for the year for your military. Since each turn is half a month, there are twenty-four turns per year. You can buy anything below, but be sure you do not run out of military budget money, or you will not be able to do anything, lol. The expenditures will be put in credit form per billion. I may increase some nation’s for the sake of playability.

However, if for some reason you need to increase your military budget, you can decrease any of the following domestic stats, which start with a level five, for a billion dollars. However, your people will be very upset, and if you do it enough you could be impeached, and the next two turns you will not be able to do orders. To increase the stats again, you can put a billion dollars back into it.

You can get to anywhere in the world within one turn by sea. If you have to go overland, you can move one country per turn.

War will be fought on a costly basis. As you can tell below, you have to buy your military movements. You do not have to buy anything if you are defending; all movements are free. If you do not have a good reason (i.e. you did not make a good speech to your people or a good story why your invading) then you can face angry people at home. Angry people can cause riots, protests, etc – and if you get into this game you don’t want that. Other countries may think bad of you and join in on fighting you if they do not believe in your cause.

Strategy will get you very far. If you put time into your strategy and it is good, you will be very happy with results. Remember, each turn is two weeks roughly, so take that into account when you fight – you can not overrun any country in two weeks, I would provide strategy for certain battles instead of a whole war.

I will be very flexible in this game. I will add new rules as we go to make it more enjoyable. If you have an idea, ask me. If you want to create organizations such as NATO or something, I will be flexible with that too.

Since there are only 8 players in this game, if you miss two turns in a row you will be ousted from the game.
To keep the game going there will be random events such as terrorism, surprise attacks, and economic depressions.

The Iraq conflict has not happened, a bit of alternate history. It will be fun to see how our players handle it J. But 9/11 has happened, and American forces are still in Afghanistan.

Last but not least, have fun with this! Do something, don’t be afraid!

And what about the air movement (airlift/airdrop)? Same as sea?

Anyway, I'll join as Russia.

I´m in as the Federal Republic of Germany.

I shall be China.

Israel please :D

LOL, Azale, that was my first choice but I decided to pick Russia instead. Well, it's not important anyway.

OOC: aren't there any nukes?

nah, no nukes, no fun with them

Maybe they're hiding somewhere over there *points at a nuclear storage in the middle of Siberia*? Well, actually, yup, not fun, though there is a fun moment when you say taht your forces are backed by a nuclear threat, but otherwise, I agree.

OOC das whats not important?! You call Israel! My beloved Israel not important!!! It's more important than Russia thousands of times!

I'll tale India... It has a VERY HIGH population... and it grows more...

I mean it's not important whatever was my first choice because that I made a different final choice. And Israel is smaller, anyway!

is there any room for me :)
