This is the thread for the 4 player PBEM with DogBoy, Rubberjello, Eliit Mees, and Kaboth. Game settings are as follows:

World Size: Standard
Barbarians: Raging (something exciting)
Land Mass: Continents
Water: 60%
Climate: Normal
Temperature: Temperate
Age: 4 Billion
Difficulty: Monarch
4 humans
4 AIs
Patch: 1.20
 
Checking into the thread and FYI'ing that my first turn has been played and sent on to Eliit.
Now, I have a mediocre start. :vomit: (but playable). I'm just sayin' I wouldn't shed many tears if someone had a horrible start and wanted to start over. :vomit:

Bad luck to the rest of you, and I hope plagues of locusts descend upon your lands and many discontinent camels infest your palaces/caves. *oops! Did I say that? I was thinking it, but I meant to say:*

If someone has a terrible and unplayable start, I will start the game over. I started an archipalego map and one guy had the worst start ever. I killed him in something like 20 turns and it wasn't even fair. So if you have a start where you are surrounded by desert or marsh and there is no way you will even survive, let me know, and I will restart. If it's a decent start, rock on!

Just a question Dogboy wouldn't it have been better to start a game on v1.22?
 
I thought of starting it on 1.22, but the problem is so many other PBEMs are at 1.20. I know I'm in several with you that are at 1.20. It just made sense to me to keep it at 1.20 because when you get home from work and you are playing all your PBEMs, it would just be easier to play one version instead of having to close your 1.20 game and load up your 1.22 game just for one save.

I can see your point Dogboy, especially when you play 20 something PBEMs right? :)

Any of you guys played that patch suggestion mod for v1.22 with balances to heaps of the UUs and governments. I'm thinking about making a PBEM game someday using that mod, but no time soon I'd like to finish some of my current PBEM games first.
 
As far as I know, you get crapy starting position almost everytime you play higher level than regent. Considering that, my start is OK :p

I've got a decent starting position. It's on a river so can't complain. What I hate tho is after I settled a cow showed up 2 spaces diagonally so my capitol will never get it. And the river don't flow that way so I can't settle a city on the water and get the cow. Such is life :(

My start loc is ok though I havn't seen any bonus of luxury tiles yet but I have got a river.
 
Came here to post played and sent, but I see the next two guys after me have already played and sent. Now that's fast!
 
I too see a goody hut close by. Somebody please send me my turn so I can see what I get!!! But it may take two turns to get there as I'm mired in forest :cry:
 
Dangit! I knew I shoulda picked an Expansionist Civ. I sure hope those Mongrels ain't on my Continent! :p
 
Good news and bad news. The bad news is the hut didn't give me a tech. The good news is...watch my score!!

Also, I bet I post "got it and sent" the fastest. Check my time baby :lol:
 
My starts very coastal, Maybe collusus would be a nice addition to my scientific agenda :D
 
Maybe Kaboth and I should stick together and do the slow but steady growth thing. I hope those fast starters are stuck on the same continent together. That will serve 'em right! :)
 
Yep start up slow and then become really powerful late game, thats what Greece is about anyway.

What civ did you start with anyway Dogboy? or are you gonna keep it a suprise?

Did any of you guys play alpha centauri in the past?
 
You can tell which civ I have just by looking at the score :confused: But if you didn't look, you will know it when those Hittites Chariots steamroll your civ into dust.

I played Alpha Centauri, loved it!
