Malware hiding in CFC?

For the second time since last night my browser has been hijacked by some spyware that inundates me with ads, not just at home but at school as well.

Both times the only site I was on was CFC. TF, could you check the site to make sure there aren't any stowaways here?

Not the best solution but installing a popup blocker should help. Although were you visiting sites before CFC as that could be the problem?

Hasn't happened to me. I run anti spy/ad/malware programs everyday and haven't come across this.

I'm running Ad Aware, so that helps part of the problem. I suspect it's lurking on CFC because I got the same pop-ups at school while visiting this site.

CivCube, that happened to me twice in the last 24 hours (lucky that it was on my old computer). I had to do a format two times.
A million adds appear and when you try to change your home page or anything like this, it either crashes, or you have success, but then IE won’t start.
It is very annoying. There is this pop-up that says, “Do you get lots of annoying pop-ups? Click here!” (if you click, something worse will probably happen... ) and that’s as the pop-ups continue to pop in the background!

What I recommend is you do a format (if possible, of course) and then install all the latest IE updates and probably use a pop-up blocker. Did that, and now I don’t have any problems.

Heh, I just had a format yesterday! Let's hope the updates do the trick.

The second time I got it, I came on CFC (but I was too lazy to use my internet provider's browser, which has a great pop-up blocker) and one pop-up appeared as usual...And after that followed much more.

I think there are waves of different (regular) pop-ups that get on CFC. You can almost find the pattern if you study it everyday.

Same thing has been happening to me, 2 days later. I run Ad Aware and it gets it, but the fact that it keeps comming back unnerves me. I think it might be CFC too. I'd hate to have this be the cause of my popup headaches.
