Bird of Prey shaped maps v1.0 by socralynnek ( 1 July 2004)
--------------------------------------------

Note: Made with v1.22 of the Conquests editor
You need the Conquests Expansion of Civ3 to load the map

The idea:
I was making my first attempts in creating maps, when I found a tool called "BMPtoBic" by John Avran (thanks for the tool).
After playing around a bit, I made a picture from a Bird-of-Prey (Klingon starship in Startrek) into a map,
and after editing it a bit, I found it has turned out nice for me.
The thing is, it's a pangea map with lots of coast and some strategically important bottleneck.
I think, it's a map where playing as Portugal might be interesting, because it's one of the maps where both of their traits can be useful!
But every other civ is also fine ( I especially recommend agricultural civs).

The maps:
There are three versions included:
bop.biq - 140x140 tiles with Starting locations for 12 Civilizations
bop31.biq - 140x140 tiles for up to 31 Civilizations
bop-standard.biq - Standard sized map (100x100 tiles) for 8 civilizations
On the larger maps, the landmass is connected on the left and right edge;
on the standard sized map, there is coast between the left and right edge of the map.
The starting positions are not tied to the Civilizations, so you get one of them randomly.
I have given the most northern starting location a few advantages that should compensate for the limited space there.

How to install and start:
Copy the .biq-files to your Conquests/Scenarios folder.
If you now start the Conquests game, click on "Civ-Content" and there you find the .biq files to select

Feedback:
I appreciate any comments and feedback on the maps

The first map I made with BMP to BIC was a picture of Jeri Ryan (the hot chick 7 of 9 in Star Trek:Voyager) but it didn't turn out that good...
