hello everyone this is my second mod attempt

okay this is a COMBAT SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT mod

basically these are the tweaks ;)

1. all units except settler, worker, explorer, scout, leader, army, navy, air force, transport, galleon, caravel, and galley are immobile :p

2. to new units have been added Navy and Air Force. they both have the same function of an army unit but the Navy is a Sea Army and Air Force is a Air Army meaning that Navy can only load sea units in it and air force can only load air units in it. navy can only travel on sea but air force can travel on anything.

3. Army, Navy, and Air Force do not require leaders to build. all you have to do is build a Military Academy which is only 1 shield. Army has no advance required. Navy can be built after Map Making and Air Force can be built after Flight :crazyeye:

4. Great Leaders still can build ARMIES and only ARMIES :lol:

5. Now these changes require more strageic thinking on your part because now you have to expand a lot faster since one army, navy, and air force can be built after 4 towns completed for each ;) this may sound hard but this makes expand and military size a more strageic and more depth doing. this makes it easier for newbies like me :crazyeye: to play on higher levels easier trust me.

6. Best of all the AI now is forced to use armies, navies, and air forces so expect a challenge. This is for everyone not just advanced and newbies but everyone to have a better challenge hopefully. :king:

7. minor changes include Frigate upgrading to Ironclad which upgrades to Destroyer and Submarine upgrading to Nuc. Submarine.

8. Finally this is for vanilla Civ3

This right now is currently a BETA version for testing. Actually this entire mod is a testing platform for this type of concept being implanted in future mods :eek: Readme including installing instructions is included in the zip. file.

They actually can work for the user, but the AI has no idea what to do.
 
Neomega is partially right but when i found the AI it was doing okay with its military and i had declared war and the AI sent a couple of Armies toward me full of Swordsmen. i'm not sure if this could just only work with me if thats what Goldflash is talking about?

Sure the AI can use armies, and actually does on harder difficulties. But it cannot use naval or air armies.

I never tested sea armies, but I did find a way to make air armies that worked in battle. Perhaps for a multiplayer game, but the AI cannot possibly know how to load planes into it.
 
i see your point Neomega but so is their any comments on the mod or is all this discussion on the AI using the army, navy, and air force discouraging people to download it :lol:
 
lol nice idea but divisions and ranks would have made more sence, i mean come on america only has 1 army and navy and well air force!!!
 
What if you removed the movement of all regular units except the transport units nad the non-combat units or is that what you have done? If so the AI should be forced to use them since it is the only way to move their military is to load up the armies. Or will the AI simply leave all the immobile military units in the city and not bother leaving?

i already did that with the non-combat units so they can move but i could change the transport vehicles so they can only move ;)

i'll change that now :)
