Story

In 451, Attilia the Hun advanced into Roman Gaul. There he sacked Orleans, A few days later he was met my General Aetius of the Roman army. Both of the massive armies lined up. It was going to be a clash of the titans between the Romans and their barbarian allies and the huns and there barbarian allies. At this battle, at the Catalaunian Fields, the fate of Europe would be decided.....

The battle raged on for 3 days, tens of thousands of men were killed. At the third day the Roman's Barbarian allies betrayed the Romans and joined the huns. After this defection, the battle only lasted 1 more day. As the Romans were surrounded and slaughtered, General Aetius some how escaped and fled to Britian. The last Roman Stronghold in the west.

There was nothing left to stop the Huns, they rode all over western Europe, burning villages and slaughtering the populous. Rome was razed to the ground in 456 AD and most of the Roman Knowledge was lost in the inferno.

Attila was not done with the Romans yet. He advanced on the Eastern Roman Empire. Attila's army, with his new barbarian allies, overran the Balkens. Athens was burned and Constantinople was laid under siege.....

The Persians used this opportunity to strike and regain land in the Eastern Roman Empire. The Persian attack captured most of Turkey, Palestine and Egypt. This was a mistake for the Persians as they attacked the Eastern Roman Empire, another tribe of the huns was coming from central asia. The undefended eastern half of the Persian empire was ravaged. When the troops at the front heard of this, the offense was halted and the Persian army dissolved away.

463 AD, the last hold out of the Western Romans, Britiania, broke into civil war. Britiania was divide in half between the Celtic Kingdom of Wales, and Britiania.

The siege at Constantinople was the last stand of the Christian faith in the
east. For 6 months the siege lasted but the Huns were never able to take the city. In 471 AD the Huns dropped the siege and returned to southern Russia.

It is now 500 AD, 30 years ago Europe was devestated, the survivers of the Roman People and Barbarian Tribes begin to rebuild there civilization. The Eastern Roman Empire, now know has the Byzantines begin to venture out of Constantinople. The Egyptians begin to rebuild there kingdom and people calling themselve Novo Carthogo form a kingdom in southern Spain. Even though the Hunnic Empire broke apart 20 years ago, they are rumors of hunnic tribe still in hiding in Europe and Rumors of survivers of Rome to rekindle the Roman Empire. Will you be able to lead your tribe out of the dark ages?

Rules

Economy
Lets say that your economy says 2; 5/9 to the next level. You probably have no clue that that mean. The number to the left of the semicolon is the amount of eco you make per turn. And the fraction to the right is the amount of money you have to invest into Agriculture, Industry and Trade. For everyone 1 eco you invest in Agriculture, Industry or Trade, you will get closer to increasing the amount of eco you gain per turn. Banks are not invented yet so you will lose any eco you do not spend on a turn. The amount you have to invent will change from time to time and sometimes you may get economic bonuses from stories or a random event.

Military and Navy
Invest economy to grow your army. I will choose the exact amount of troops or ships that you get. The amount you get and quality of the troops will increase when your education gets better.

Each Galley can transport 40 men.
A longboat can transport 50 men.
A sicilian Galley can transport 50 men
A Dromon can transport 50 men

Education
I am going to try a different system for education for this NES. You can still research education but it will be expensive or you can try to “unlock” the lost information from the Roman Empire. You can send people to ancient roman cities, ruins, libraries, etc. to bring back the ancient knowledge this will allow you to build wonders, will improve your army, etc. Once you get to a certain education level you will reach the middle ages, if we get this far.

Trade routes
Can open them when you have 15 trade points. The first one is free, 1 eco for the second and third one, 2 eco for the fourth and fifth one, limt 5 trade routes.

Resources
Resources can be found and be used with ancient knowledge to allow the production of better troops and other stuff.

Goods: Recieved from pillaging and trade, 2 goods equal 1 eco. Can be banked.

Expansion
Just expand like you normally do in a NES

Wonders
Tell me what you want the effects to be and I will say how long it takes.

Stories
Not needed but if you write them you may get a random event or something else.

LONG LIVE BYZANTIUM I'm in.

Checking in -- Venice.

EDIT: By your map the Welsh capital would be Dyfed (an important ancient Welsh town in the area), but the city of Gwynedd in northern Wales was the most important Welsh city of the time.

If any one thinks I need to explain anything or add something to the rules. Just tell me.

EDIT:Thanks for the info Cuivienen.

Confirming Wales is in the house.

Jason, I thought you reserved Denmark?

The first update will be on Friday so people have time to check in.

Well the update will be on thursday. People start checking in.

Confirming as Egypt.

Edit: On second thought, I'll be the Goths. Doing so will dispel all notions concerning my need to have a pink nation. That and I'm not hot on the idea of starting out with an economic disadvantage.

Ok, Only Amon and Tyrion have to check in. Remember the update will be Late Wednesday/Thursday depending on when everyone gets their orders in. I want to get as many updates as I can in before I go on vacation.
