MUF – 92 Tank

Built by Muffin Armaments Industries ™, the MUF – 92 tank is a good example of modern cutting-edge tank technology.

The MUF – 92 was developed in the late 1980’s under the project name “Blueberry”. The goal was to produce a high-tech main battle tank with a low unit cost. Early on in the project history it became clear that in order to achieve these difficult goals, consultation and input from every level of the defence industries would be required. To this end, the “Memorandum of Understanding” was signed between the prime developers (Muffin Armaments Industries ™ ) and the various contractors involved in Project Blueberry. The idea was to prevent development over-runs due to incompatible systems or misunderstanding of specifications.

The first proto-type came off the assembly line in April 1989 and entered exhaustive field tests the following month. By September of the same year the government gave the go-ahead for a limited production run of 24 tanks for delivery in February 1990. This first batch consisted mostly of tank crew training versions and the battle version - destined for evaluation purposes by the Muffin United Forces.

The government found the new tank beat all their expectations and they placed an order for 242 units. Full production began in June 1991.

The tank entered service with the Muffin United Forces in August 1992 and was given the designation MUF – 92.

Only three years later the MUF – 92 saw combat when the government of the Muffin Republic declared war upon the Cookie Kingdom over a trade access dispute. The MUF –92 proved itself superior to the Chinese-built T-80 tanks of the Imperial Cookie Army. In an engagement on the northern plains, a platoon of 8 MUF – 92’s from the 5th Muffin Lancers tank regiment encountered 14 T-80’s from the 3rd Tank Regiment of the ICA. All 14 T-80’s were destroyed without loss on the Muffin Republic’s side.

The MUF – 92’s were famously used in the final assault upon the Cookie King’s palace. Three previous assaults by infantry had been repulsed at great cost and the palace grounds were by then nightmarishly covered with muffin crumbs and chocolate-chips.

Two MUF – 92 tanks pierced the defensive perimeter thrown up by the last remnants of the Imperial Cookie Army and managed to break down the main palace doors. This allowed infantry to storm in and seize the enemy’s seat of government.

Rather than allow himself to be captured and used as a propaganda tool, the King of the Cookie Kingdom opted instead for suicide. He was found floating face-down in a glass of milk.

This unit includes pedia pics but no sounds or unit32 (the unit32 palette doesn’t like green :( )

Haven't you read your world history?

That is obviously a MUF-108. That size barrel wasn't introduced until 1996... and the green paint job wasn't introduced until 1990.

ha ha- it's funny cause its so simplistic, but the graphic is still really smooth

And the irony is, this came AFTER all your superb kick-ass units. :D

Why.... Why oh why didn't the Cookie Kingdom use their Gingerbread Mercenaries to defend the palace? There is no way those tanks could get past the gumdrop launchers and hard candy mines employed by the Gingerbread Brigade.

BEST UNIT EVER, if only for the discussion of The Imperial Cookie Army and Gingerbread Mercenaries.
