Opening the thread for all these things. I lack any artistic talent so Im depending on you talented individuals to give us some good choices :)

Well, what symbols to use...
Eastern Dragons, Katanas, "standard" Japanese Temples?

And for a flag, maybe something that resembles Japans flag? Both the modern one and the earlier one (pre-WW2) maybe?
 
if I were to pick a motto it would be

"If I happen to die, please take this hat off of my head"

Hmm...looks good so far! Perhaps another sword going the other way, or some sort of weapon (to create an "X"). And then maybe our motto we decide upon curved around the center circle (yet behind the weapon)?

What about something simple?

A bit like CT's picture above (the modern Japanese flag), but remove the katana and put in something that says it's the fifth demogame. Something like five stars, or anything like that.

As for the sceal, I don't have any idea.
 
Here ya go. The little monkeys can represent our religion/philosophy and the Katana can represent our miliaristic trait. :)

How about having the Rising Sun in the flag too? And maybe some of the Code of Bushido?

Rik, if you're gonna do that, have the Swords going the same direction, ie. Counterclock-wise

Though I prefer the simplicity w/o the text....
