I think that we need such a thread. Mods, can you please sticky this? Thank you. :)

What is this? Well, basically this is an idea bank, where various ideas for NES setting ideas will be posted and exchanged, so that if someone wants to start a new NES, but can’t think up a setting will be able to take anything from this thread, maybe change it a little, maybe not… And those who already have NESes and don’t want to abandon them, but also have many good ideas for NESes (like me, for example ;) ), will be able to post everything here. Settings, ideas, maps, some ideas for specific rules perhaps… Anything!

Well, is this a fine idea or not? Please tell me.

Here are some ideas to start this off. For example, how about some alternative geography 4000 BC NES? For example, on a map with an Atlantis continent (and perhaps also Lemuria instead of Indonesia and Australia)? Or another idea I heard somewhere, a world where North Africa and Ethiopia-Somalia (Horn of Africa) are still connected to the old world, but the rest of Africa is merged with South America which is to the east from its real site?

Another idea would be a Dune NES, as long as someone could make a good map for the known universe ;) . Take reins of an Imperial House and fight your neighbors for honor, glory, riches and worlds!

Some other ideas would be a Victoria NES starting in 1836 with some rules distantly resembling Victoria? For example, Jason did make a nice little army system for a story NES, in which troops can be assigned into armies in your stats with specific location given…

Maybe a NES beginning in 1900 as well?

Some nice alternate history would be good as well, as long as its plausible. What can I say, I’m an althist enthusiast…

I like the Victory NES idea.

Hello? Anybody here?

lol dune nes :D
well we are treating NESes like STRATAGY GAMES :D

Never ending stories can be set anywhere, a political NES where you argue for world domination :D

(bad idea but im tired) :D

Well, why can't a Dune NES be a strategy game? I mean, you've got lots of worlds, you've got lots of soldiers, and you can send them to slaughter your neighbors or sign alliance with those neighbors. Sounds like a NES to me...

Just as well an Amber NES would've been good as well, but I find it pretty hard for anyone to make a map for it.

1. A NES about the Silmarilion (1st age of Middleearth) with a tolkien-expert mod.

2. A NES about the colonization of the Moon, Mars or Alpha Centauri.

3. A civil war NES were different factions battle for control over a war torn country. (maybe board nes)

4. A NES about atlantis.

5. A NES were gods are leaders of their country.

I'm currently planning an NES in which The South won the Civil War and then fragmented further.

i made a victoria map with almost all countries!! just less germans... naevrod supose to have it... i hope!

What about one where New Zealand and the Australian aborigines were heavily advanced and discovered europe first. This could work with the south american one. A kind of reversal of fortune. The conquered become the conquers.

It would be very interesting. (In My Opinion) For once Australia could be a proper super power.

I would play an Atlantean NES first an dformost (hint hint- that why i choose the Minoans in aaminions NES ;)) as well as participate in a victorian era NES

I think Tlaxcallans were not the material for Europe-conquest. Incans (fast learners), or, better yet, Tarascans (inventors) would've been better. Or better yet - Aztecs never rise, Tarascans invent Bronze earlier and conquer Mexico, including the Mayans, and create a new culture from the merge of the highly-innovative Tarascan and Mayan cultures. This combination could match Europe in technology if given just alittle luck.

hmmmm ideas.

Series of NESes like the Age of Heron NESes which are now in action.

Freedom Fighters NES based on the game for Gamecube and PC. You play as resistence groups in wartorn America fighting against Soviets. Each player could have his own group.
