I saw some moon rock on display at the science center and it definitely didn't look like cheese. So who do you believe. I saw the lunar landing live, and it looked real.
 
I think that the people who think it was a fraud assume that the rocks brought back are actually just rocks from earth that are rather exotic and would be closest to the type of geology found on the moon.

I personally believe the moon landing happened if for only this one reason: The Soviets would've called us on it so damn fast if we didn't. I am sure there was a whole department dedicated to sifting through all of the evidence, working as if not more intensely than the conspiracy theorists and with a lot more resources to burn.
 
Yes, good idea, but I'm not sure what is has to do with the wonder if the landing was fake or not.

I don't think you guys understand the meaning of a wonder. A wonder is a super improvement based on real marvels which existed/occurred in the time of human civilization. You got the Great Wall (of China), (Egyptian) Pyramids, (Roman) Coliseum. The Apollo Project (American) was the first successful landing on the moon, during the Cold War to lower the morale and momentum of the Soviets.
 
The way I see this is that it is more of a "what-if" wonder. Remember that Civ3 doesn't truly represent history, but gives the player the option of changing history.

I wouldn't suggest renaming it from Apollo Program, but it might be better without the flag.
 
Actually the wonder and the poll don't really have much to do with each other. I was just curious... (I voted for scam but I'm only 60% sure)

The reason why I made this was:
1: It is strange if a Non-American builds a wonder that actually has an American flag on it.
2: The Apollo Project has not (yet???) made it possible to begin the contruction of a spaceship that can fly to Alpha Centauri. I actually imagined this wonder as some sort of future space project. So maybe I should have suggested to rename it to "Space Project" or "Unity Project" (like in SMAC) and not "Lunar Project".

Sorry for the confusion.
