First off, I would like to say hello to everyone. Me and my friends have actually been doing this SG stuffwith people on our campus (UCLA). I didn't realize that there was an actual site for these, so I am quite happy. Anyways, I wanted to introduce you to a SG theme that we play a lot. We have a lot of people on campus who play so I don't expect it to be like that where we have 10+ people playing.

I need 5 or 6 people to sign up.

Five people are the actual players.

One is what we call a "The Bad Apple." Every so many turns he comes in and takes one turn doing something destructive to our game. It can't be like selling improvements or anything like that. He has the choice to declare war on one person, ruin our reputation by demanding, waste our money on a steal (can't continue stealing until we are run dry of $$$), switch an improvement, or rush an improvement (only one even if we have millions of $$$). You don't have to do the worst thing everytime you are up, read the discussions and decide what would irritate us the most.

The "Bad Apple" spot is triggered by a leader pop, anarchy (including self-induced), oa civilization leaving the game, or GA. When one of these three activities happens, the bad apple is put into the rotation and has to play 1 turn. No units may be moved or any unit actions used. After his/her vile act, the person must make the turn skip to the next. Save it and tell us how badly you hurt us. Then the rotation continues.

Then, we have "I can do better" spot. When someone who is in the roster says I need a skip/swap because he/she cannot claim the game in the time required, anyone lurking can claim it. After the lurker plays, the rotation continues. To claim the game, they have to say, "I can do better." Once a person plays his/her open 10 turns, he/she cannot play in this sg anymore.

Difficulty: Diety
Land: Continents
Land %: 70%
Random for the rest

Civ: Celts
All other civs random
All winning conditions are on except wonders. We can win anyway we want to.
Culture Flips = on
Scientific leaders = on

The first start will be taken no matter how disgusting it looks. This has proved to be a really fun SG in our dorm. The only difference is when the bad apple starts a war with someone we don't want to attack, we get to go to their room and hit them with hard objects. :)

Roster (actual play order as well)
Barbslinger
Mauer
Sesn

Bad Apple = Microbe

Bad Apple Accomplishments:

After Anarchy ended, Microbe put us into Monarchy instead of Republic

Alright, start thinking nasty thoughts because you probably won't be playing too much, but when you do, this sg needs only the meanest bad apple.

You have a choice on whether or not you tell. Sometimes it would be funner saying, "by the way guys, you are at war with a superpower k thanks bye."

Other times it might be funner having us come into the game thinking our wicked wonder is done only to have it switched to a temple.

Forgot to add, signing MPP's and ROP's are fine as well. Making peace with someone while at war is also fine. Just as long as it doesn't involve moving troops or doing something more than once. If you sign peace with someone, your turn is over. If you switch an improvement, you cannot switch another or sign any other deals.

Hmm, I am debating how bad I want you to be. How about you decide and just not tell anyone. Just don't move the units, though.

not a sign-up but i may do an "I can do better"

fun idea, and i can see why it would work so well in a dorm environment. good luck :)

btw, microbe, be as bad as you can be  i envision a blown rep at the first gov't change. better check those trades carefully, locomotive ;)

Sounds like a fun idea, I may give this a try. Just don't lock me in yet. Maybe a "I can do better" here as well.

It is one of those games where you really can't lose. We win or microbe wins. In the end, 'tis all fun and games.

Since this is early in the organizing stages, could we somehow make this a PTW game? If you do I would LOVE to sign up, though microbe took the "bad apple" already  . This is the first time I've heard of this sort of variant, and I love the idea of somehow blatantly sabotaging us. Hint hint, microbe's won't COMPLETELY kill us, he'll just inflict enough pain to ease the suffering we are experincing in SGOTM03 :D

No one wants to play. :( Sorry ForTheEmpire, I don't even know where my PTW CD's are. I am stuck with Conquests only.

What the heck! I'll give it a shot. One thing thing about bad apples, after the first bite you throw it away and move on to something better.

I am more along the lines of an emperor sometimes player. Depends on the wind. Maybe barbslinger could go first whenever we start this.

Aw, I want to see this sg going! Where is everyone???

For the empire, do you have conquests 1.22? Don't worry about your gameplay Mauer. Perfect time to up your game a notch.

Here is the start. First one generated. Also, remember that Barbs are set to random. Hopefully they are at none or sed.

I am a little disapointed that there is no lux in the first 3x3 radius. Makes it easier, but this definately isn't a bad start. Hopefully the water NE is a lake, but considering this is continents, most likely not.

I will post the save soon as we get at least one more player.
