Looks like we stopped the chat at a good spot after all, as our capital is on the verge of riot!

This issue can be either cured by Governor or Domestic orders, but I would prefer that Domestic adjust the lux slider to 10% for the next three turns. This will give 2/3rds of the population(aka the Settler ;) ) a chance to skip town on schedule(3 turns)and start a better life.

What this would also mean is that any shot of maxing out 100% science to get Iron Working in 3 is out the window.

Having the governor draft an entertainer in our capital would appease the citizens, but it would also hinder growth and production there. So I would really like to see Domestic step up in this one.

Any thoughts, Japanatica?

It actually hasn't become a problem just yet, Immo. Like I said in jest....it's a good thing we stopped when we did, because the temperature will rise next turn if this is not dealt with.

But yes, I agree. There should have been precautions taken just in case we played another 4 turns last nite.

This save was taken right at the start of the turn, as soon as I noticed the available worker, so hadn't reached the happieness scan in my routine yet.

Thanks for bringing it up here where we can decide what to do about it. :)

Simple. Use the lux slider. Something as fundamental to gameplay as this shouldn't be an issue...

If Domestic refuses to higher the lux, I am going to have to make take one of the wheat people and make 'em an entertainer.

Lux slider and moving a citizen off the wheat sounds fine by me.

The last ditch option should be using a unit as MP. We have so few at the moment, that using a warrior for crowd control would hinder expansion and exploration.

besides, i dont agree with using MP.

a longer term solution would be connecting the gems to the capital.

Use the luxury budget, and keep this asa reminder to the need for an Oracle, and a Hanging Garden if our cities Fanatikku and Immo should rise to 12 inhabitants.

I agree with raising the luxury budget. Settler production and growth is far more important than one or two turns we lose to science.

Raising the luxury - slider ??
Another setback for science. I'm willing to sacrifice research-time though, this time. The Minister of Domestic Affairs has shown to me that he holds science important enough for me to trust him that if he suggests to cut-down on science he has a good reason.

I do request that there will be temples and other happyness-generating buildings will be erected, OR luxury-resources connected quickly. We can't allow science to be dropped this dramatically for very long.

As per many of the suggestions here, the lux slider will be raised to 10% to deal with the unhappiness.

Ugh, there goes a worker factory!

Question: Would moving that worker into the city constitute a garrison of one unit? Can the worker act as an MP?

I seriously dounbt it. I did produce units for protection/mp, but they all left.

It looks like the lux is being upped, so production would still be good to go.

Actualy, by the look of things, It wont matter since we will bump out 2 citizens when that settler is produced. The Settler will be compleated in just 3 turns while the growth will happen in 5 turns. Thus the settler will be compleated and cause a population shrink before the capital grows again. But if we are not going to build any more settlers/workers in the capital we should consider building a temple there.

We needed the mp for when it was rising back up, because it hurts anyway. We can't leave it as is. Also, we need the military there, since it is afterall our capital. Besides, we will be building a granary, which means more people, which means much needed mp, before we can build the temple.
