Of all the nations that possess Mysticism, the Iroquois have the best offer:

We give: 69g and 1gpt
They give: Mysticism

Do we want to initiate this trade during the preturn? Our treasury currently stands at 90g and we are making 1 gpt.

I voted yes for this, but keep in mind that doing this will deplete any gold we may need for future trades. Then again, we need something to trade, and this would go well to Babylon should they discover Masonry or HB Riding. Then we may have something to give the Zulus et al to get Alphabet.

So the Trade Ministry votes YES on this proposal. I will have something akin to the above in my instructions, so we are ready for any deal. :)

NO. I refuse to accept techs for this kind of money when we can so easily obtain it in a few turns by trading Iron Working.

And we don't even need the tech that badly... It doesn't hurt us to wait 2 or 3 or 4 turns. That gives the opportunity to even lower the cost by AI-to-AI trading.
 
I believe that if we focus on the Great Library, we get all these for free. As a result, I cannot support this proposal.

Right now the people are strongly rejecting the idea of outright trade of Iron Working. So we may need to secure techs by other means.

People of Japanatica, please keep this in mind while voting.

I will concede Rik's second point, and will consider it in the instructions I leave should this measure pass by a slim margin. If it fails, I will most likely postpone the issue.

I voted Yes. 8 turns closer to Monarchy. When i was deciding i just imagined that i need 40 turns to research Monarchy and that 32 would be much better. Think what would we do in those 8 turns.
 
I voted no. Mysticism doesn't benefit us right now. We're not going to build the Oracle, we're not going to beeline for Monarchy, and we're not getting out of the ancient age soon. We can easily get this in the future for only four turns of research.
 
I've voted YES. It took me a long while to make up my mind. I don't much care for the cost of the tech (too expensive), but I don't want to trade IW to anyone and the trade mongers need to be fed. I do want to progress down the Monarchy path like we decided and Mysticism is another step in that direction, so it's not all bad.
