Remember 10 turns per round - STRICT 24 hours got it, total 48 to complete.

I figured I would do at least one Sid game. I am not sure how many of these I will do.

===========================================

The following tactics are PROHIBITED:

RoP Rape - if you have to ask...

RoP Abuse that includes things such as irrigating all tiles with a city building wonders, denying resources with a RoP, putting a unit to block a land bridge, etc.

Scout resource denial - parking a scout on a resource, as the AI won't ask scouts to leave. The same scenario also applies to workers.

False Peace Treaties (must wait for the 20 years to end).

The negative science exploit - you can run a huge deficit (-250 / turn) of negative cash with a token penalty of one lost worker / cheap building. If cash will go below zero, the research level must be dropped.

Ship chaining exploit - you can move a ship, unload troops to another ship, move that ship, etc. This allows you to ship an indefinite distance, and that is why I consider it an exploit.

Resources disconnect / connect exploit - I consider most resource tactics fine. Delaying to hook a resource, trading it away etc is fine. The exploit is to do this every turn. Build a stack of horses, connect saltpeter, upgrade to cavalry, and disconnect.

Palace Jump - You abandon the capital city to move the palace to a new location. If you want to move the palace, build a new palace.

Mass troop jumping - You can't give away a give a city to transport a large amount of troops to another land mass.

Standard LK house rules:
1) Worker automation of any kind is prohibited.
2) No worker purchases during the first 50 turns to avoid civ crippling.
3) Declaring war / demanding leave solely for the purpose of getting out of trade deals. This includes nonsense spying simply to force a war. Stealing techs is fine.
4) Even if not covered under exploits listed, please try not to use tactics that take advantage of holes in the game design.
5) Our trading reputation is golden - please respect it.
6) Complete your turn. It is frustrating to get a 1/2 completed turn.
7) Once you post a skip notice it is irrevocable.
8) If I skip a player to due a missed got it, or over due turn the turn is invalid if the next player has posted a got it.

I would like to join.

I think SID on a small map will not be easy. There are fewer opponents, so there is less trading opportunities and fewer backward civs. I think going with a stong Civ with a UU no later than Knights makes sense. The earlier UU because I think it best to hit SID opponents early (and with help from another civ) if you possibly can - at least this has proven effective in two SID SG's I have played.

Persia has been done before (AG12). It is an excellent civ though. [Edit: Ya, Aggie, I meant done but typed won  ]

China might be interesting to try.

I have defaulted to Small to keep the end game easier. If the whole team prefers standard I would consider it. However, I refused to do standard with 40% land.

If there is about a week before this starts up, I would be game. I have not played on Deity in for fun games, but I know all the tricks. Plus I have played many different DG and Emp variants. (AWE- very tough). I am playing in my first Sid SG as the Napoleonic French, but I am very interested in joining this one, provided I can be slotted lower in the roster. (That will be my 3rd conquest Sid victory).
Translation: You might want me as a reserve, or to thrust me in the mix, depending on your personal preference.

romoethemonk (?) I doubt it will take a week, but being 5th will probably be 4 to 5 days before 1st turn.

I'd love to take a crack at SID level in an SG. Count me in!

Repeating to make it clear. Deity to Sid is a major jump. If you can't kill deity, the sid will eat you alive.

Was hoping for the LK73 game but may be able to play Sid with all you veterans ;). After my LK71 turns tonight my game slate is clean.

I want to get a yes / no from romoethemonk before saying the roster is completed.

I remember signing up a while ago, like 4 month probably. I there would be a spot, count me in as well. MM1 is apparently stalled atm, so I have some spare time. If you are full, no problem.

akots (alternate if romoethemonk declines)

After sleeping on this decision, I decide that it is best if I do not play this game. I realize that LK is a stickler for rules, and I have not met his signup requirement of multiple epic deity wins. Therefor, I will lurk, and maybe play another game in the LK series instead.
Good luck guys.

Looks like I start another one tonight. Just one of the games left to stat.

I would like a few more comments in the next 6 hours. As of right now I plan to start with a small map.

Small is fine, tiny is also fine. More chances to try something new, fewer units and towns to MM!

I DO want to play on a small map. That was not an argument to chose a bigger map; it was an argument to pick a strong civ for the game.

I think we should discuss which civ we want to play.

Persia and china both seem good choices for different reasons. There are probably others.

Persia might be much better than China IMHO. I'd still try to get something agricultural though.

What aggression level it would be?

And also, barbarians really suck on Sid. They just pop out of everywhere and in huge numbers. And they are horsemen almost instantly.
