VOTE FOR B L A C K H E A R T !

I would like to take this chance to say that everyone should vote for who they think would make the game fun and who would lead Japanatica into a continued era of glory. This demogame was meant for fun and enjoyment by its participants. Although some people have tried to turn the mood 180 degrees I will not do the same, if elected or not. (Please note that I am not considering to well planned proposals or anything of the such, just the general atmosphere).

Now that that is out of the way, I say we must hold strong and band together as a team; ministers, deputies, citizens and all must stop the constant infighting and create a more hospitable environment, an environment where one is not put down for thinking of something new or different, or disagreeing. Do not get me wrong however, we should still have criticism (constructive only of course) and friendly competition.

We as a people need to also reform the government and citizen participation procedures so that all of those who wish to participate, but due to time constraints or matters of the sort, can participate. I realize that people (including me) have lives and need to attend to them.

For the Demogame and for Japanatica!

Oh, and VOTE FOR BLACKHEART!

Voted for BH for the possition of FAs Minister :)

Answers to Ravensfire's questions (FA Nominations thread closed)
To all candidates for the Minister of Foreign Affairs :

1. What are your goals for the next term?

I think expansion has to be our number one goal. We need to gain more territory, both for ourselves to grow, and to restrict the nations around us. We should be looking to expand particularly to the East.

2. How do you plan to accomplish them?

On the whole I think we can use peaceful means to accomplish our goals, but a war (most likely with either the Romans or the Zulu) may be required, especially as they could get very aggressive once their expansion is halted by our eastward and northward progress. We need embassies to learn more and keep relations going smoothly as well.

3. Completely ignoring any previous polls, instructions, seeking of the WoTP, etc, describe how you would like to handle foreign incursions and demands.

It really depends on the Civ, but I think they should be handled on a case by case basis. We do not want to get stuck fighting a war on multiple fronts at this point, so we should take into account current circumstances. I'd be happy to appease the Babs and Iroquois, and French, but leading into a possible war with the Zulu or Romans I'd be happy to deny most demands from them, and be fairly aggressive in telling them to clear off if they intrude.

4. Why should I vote for you?

Vote for me if you think the strategies I've outlined, both here and in other posts (particularly Provolution's national vision posts) are going to be good for Japanatica, and if you trust me to follow the WOTP. I fully intend to work, if elected, under the WOTP, for the greater good of our nation.

Sorry Epi!

I would normally be all for pacifism. I would love for it to work, however I think given our current situation, sandwiched between two fairly aggressive nations, that we could have problems - I think one of them is likely to declare war on us fairly soon. I'd be happy not to initiate conflict if we're able to expand enough, but I think if we don't start a fight, one of those two will :)

:s 7 votes is a lot to make up- let's see how it goes!

I'm going to have to do some reading before I vote here. :undecided:

just a sidenote

This has probably been the smoothest term Ive seen. The least amount of controversy and the least flaming.

I went with Civman2004. He wants libraries like me, so that's a plus.

I not voting here for Blackheart, sorry, because of his stance of the over-ride issue. <---- Immo, you should have caught this.

And Gregski and I seem to vote differently.

Your right, I should have

Any candidates here pacifist?

To answer your question, I'm not a pacifist. Pacifist people would rather suffer than defend their freedom. I believe that we should fiercely defend our sovereignty if attacked and even counter attack anyone who is crazy enough to give us trouble. I am happy to support our Military Minister in any war as long as it is honourable. On the other hand, I do not endorse back-stabbing actions like breaking treaties, sneak attacks and the like.

My plans for the future of our foreign affairs is described here. My evaluation of the current state of foreign affairs can be found here. As these are lengthy post, I would prefer not reproducing them here.

Thank you all for your vote. As for the override issue, that is yet to be decided and my views on that are not set in stone.

Eh.... Not really. Sometimes when it suits me though. If pacifist then you mean by not wanting to totally obliterate every other nation, then yes, I only want to obliterate some. Be assured though, I would not force a war on Japanatica. War needs the WOTP to carry it.

I forgot to say this earlier, but, good luck to Civman2004 and Gregski. Perhaps we will all work in this office together.
