Okay, we have a settler from this TC, and I can see as many as 5 sites for it.

First up is the old standby, Roman Iron.

Second up is the old Horseport. Though the Babs have settled nearby, a city here would consolidate our holdings.

And now... the main event...

NEW LUXURIES AND COASTAL SITES!

JNN News 500 BC Page 3: NW Scouting Party Discovers Silks!

Enroute to a desert near the French Homeland, a Japanatican Scouting Party encountered some silkworms in a Jungle west of Osgiliath.

...

This region is near yet another River. This one has even better settlement opportunities than the last one. The Head of the river is near some Horses on the borders with Zululand. The Mouth of the River has some very fertile floodplains and a nice hill.

(story continues blah, blah, blah.)

Anyway, in this new Colonial region, I can see room for 3 cities. One marked with Yellow (Ignore the Green), One among the Blues, and the Purple Hill.
Yellow is on a silk, and brings 2 others and 2 Whales within Range.

Both Blues have the Horses in Temple Range. The chief difference is Light Blue is on a Grassland River, while Dark Blue is on hills right next to horses, yet are closer to the border. A 1-Day Nomonations Poll will commence within 12 hours.

And Purple, well... On a Hill, on the right side of a River, Floodplain w/Wheat on the other side. You do the math.

Any other sites seen? Discuss!

Please deduct two of the options, we do not need to poll seven options. :)

I support the northernmost alternative (PURPLE) 100 %. I consider green and light blue as unneeded options that confuse alternatives.

I am still for Roman Iron as number One.

Frankly, we should build SW or NW of the Horseport location we see now, so we can use more ocean tiles. I find the whale tile as especially appealing.

Regarding Roman Iron, we should simply build onthe top of it, for national security reasons.

#1. I have already eliminated the Green in favor of the Yellow. The Two Blue options will face a "quck poll" within 12 hours.

#2. Yeah. I agree on the Whales, but am not too sure on settling right on the Iron. Perhaps I'll have a Quick Poll on that one too.

#3: All we need to do is deny the Iron to the Romans. To do that, we merely need the Iron in the "First 8." IMO, A City on Hills which gets the Iron within the "First 8" > a city on top of the Iron which loses 2 "First 8" tiles. (We shouldn't be trading Iron, and even if so, we'll have enough if we get to Horseport.)

Let's not worry about that iron. This isn't C3C -- the AI isn't going to settle right next to our border.

Yellow and and one square to the east or northeast of dark blue would be great. None of the old sites shouldn't be used as they are waisting valuable tiles. Yellow is good because it gets us all the silk and allows us to get both of the whales when we expand our culture. I think that blue isn't the right spot but one of the two options I have put forward would make better city placement.

Edit, Did I say west, I meant east, So that would be the dark blue :cringe: :shakehead . Boy am I an idiot, sorry about the confusion.

Classic: Which Blue? Light or Dark?

EDIT: I'm thinking you mean Light Blue.

I'm not sure about your's... My sites have the nearby Horses within Temple Radius.

I'll add your sites to the "Quick Poll" if you can confirm.

Well, do not forget Roman Iron, I am stubborn there, I want the war to run smoothly.

So this Poll is just going to be for one (1) Site/Settler. We're not using this Poll to line up future Sites, right?

I would choose, from the options you've given, dark blue. Then in the next Poll for our next Settler, I would have to take into consideration any new developments. But Pink may be the way to go.

We are going to get Silks when we take Pompeii (who got us anembassy with Rome?). So Silks should be looked at as something to deny Shaka and can be gotten with culture growth or a later Settler if we feel we need it. The Roman Iron will probably be ours very soon, if war is around the corner. The horseport hills will be ours soon also.

How many Settlers do we have now and how many will we produce next T/C?

I oppose the blue one, as the yellow needs space to expand, plus get those coastal whales (2 of them). We need a strong coastal system in addition to a strong inland system.

I'm agreeing with Cyc here over the dark blue. It has room for growth and it secures resources.
The yellow is too much jungle (we have too few workers) and too much coast. Dark blue could potentially have a decent dhield count.

Oh, and pardon the typos. I'v ebeen waking up earlier so that I can get ready for school again.

Actually, if I had to choose myself, I'd choose Site #2 in this Blue District.

Now, that's just for the "Blue" district.

I actually would favor settling on Yellow AND #2, as well as a whole lot of others.

The only one I do not see too clearly on is Horseport vs Ironport. Do we get the Extra Shield from working the Iron, or the Extra Shield from working the whale...

Okay, we're not in Despotism anymore. Iron Bonus = Whale Bonus.

So "Horseport" will now be considered as "Ironport" as it will be settled right on the Iron.

Anyway, the new "Blue" Section.
