Right. At least we got the Whales out from the Zulu's collective Snout.

And we could stand to gain a lot more... or else lose a lot more...

This picture should tell you all you need to know.

1SPT after corruption on the best tile. 28 turns for temple

112 Gold for Rushing.

We have 163.

Swazi within 2 squares.

We will also need either breathing room or else a harbor to get the silks to the rest of the nation.

To Sum up: Rush the Windurst Temple!

Any Thoughts on this matter?

I wouldn't rush it yet. Swazi isn't going to grow very quickly, so they won't be able to pop rush their Temple. We don't have enough gold to cash rush ours in Windurst, really. If you want to rush a Temple, I would suggest the one in Sto'vo'kor.

If you feel you must rush the one in Windurst, for some reason, wait until it comes down in price.

Rush it in midturn next turnchat in order to preserve gold, and still lead on culture.
Or at least rush it by the very end.

I think the temple in Windurst needs to be rused as soon as possible. It will get the silks in our territory 2 turns after. And this isn't just defensive culture, also offensive culture. And we get access to 2 far better tiles (whales) in 6 turns.

Don't worry about lack of gold; selling Monarchy will counter that.

rush it now. W will soon have 171G from the Bab trade and I think our border will push back Swazi's on the turn the temple is completed.

Even with the Monarchy trade, no need to waste gold. Just wait to the end of next turnchat and then buy it for a cheaper price. Maybe so low you do not even poll it.

"So Low I wouldn't have to Poll it" = 2 Turns until Completion, IMO.

We can get, at best 1 Shield per turn. This means that we will only save 4 gold per turn waiting.

Meaning we save only 20 Gold waiting 5 turns, and 40 Gold waiting the whole TC. This still has a cost of 72 Gold.

But, yeah. I'd probably want to poll it anyway. 1 of my new sites would launch a Culture War vs the Babs and the Romans and I'd need some gold for a Temple Rush there.

OR I could use the extra gold for Deficit Research so that we can reach the Middle Ages in 2 TCs, bringing us to the "Age of Samurai" early in term 3... and perhaps at the tail end of this term if all goes extremely well...

ok SD3, just go ahead with that temple, I agree in principle so we can get those whales quickly. Very good timing, I agree. Please check your Private messages ASAP :)

SD3, you do a hell of a job, especially since you reduced city options :)

I agree with SDIII that this needs to be rushed soon. I don't think right now, but I would say, either when Swazi grows to size 2, or Windrust needs only 20 turns to complete the temple, we rush it. (Whatever comes first - the latest it would be is 8 turns (28 turns now, 8 turns later, only 20 turns.)) Seem like a good idea, or no?

I agree with Ginger here, we could save some money, as we would not cover those whales at once anyways.

I think we should rush it right away. We have enough gold, and we can get a huge cultural head start on Swazi.

Based on crpMapStat's statistics that said Windurst had a 0.104% chance of flipping, I have hopefully generated statistics that are close to correct. Swazi has about a 0.2% chance of flipping now. After Windurst builds a temple and expands (assuming Swazi has not built any culture), Windurst has about a 0.05% chance of flipping, and Swazi has about a 0.54% chance of flipping.

I would just like to ask the question of, why did we even build so close to another city? Even if we do culture flip the Zulu city neither would really ammount to anything. I would have rather just captured.

I think the logic behind it was to culturally capture the city, abandon it, and place another city in a more efficient place. Or at least thats how I see it.

Well, that's not a bad idea. I was just trying to save us some gold.
