Where should we build it?

From now on I think we should do wonder polls separately from production polls and then any items in the production queue can just be built after the wonder.

Also feel free to say whether you want to build the wonder immediately or wait for the chosen city to finsih its current item.

I don't care where it's built. It would be nice to have it, but we need Copernicus' Observatory in the Holy Duck Pond the most urgently.

I gotta agree with the Duke. Unfortunately, the Zulus have already started Cops and we're just now researching Astronomy. We'll need a lot of caravans on standby to have any hope of beating them to it. In the meantime, we do need Bachs, but without a better sense of where the higher production cities are I can't really vote. If we have the caravans to build in one turn, then the most protected (inland) city would make the most sense.

We currently have 6 caravans standing around doing nothing and another 5 caravans in production queues...All the cities currently in the poll are on the mainland, however I think they could all be attacked by the computer in one or two turns, after landing since most of the cities are on the coast.

Also agree with the Duke.I know the Mongol's just researched astronomy ,didn't know the zulu's were building it (wich make's this even a more pressing affair)
We are researching astronomy for the moment ,i don't know at what speed.But IMO building Copernicus in THDP seem's much more interresting than building Js. Bach's cathedral.The science surpluss would be so high ,if we wanted we could easily swith a little bit less science in favor of a bit more luxeries if needed ,luxuries that would have about the same effect as Js. Bach's.But we would still have that extra science advantange.

We could even build both wonder's i guess with the current number of caravan's builded and building.But there are a lot more important wonder's comming around now ,as ex. Leo' Workshop and Suntzu war academie.

I think prior to holding a wonder location poll we should hold a poll on wich wonder's we want to build.In wich everyone could place his for ex. top 5 of wonder's he want's to build ,in a order of importance.The wonder's that would get most point's out of such a vote (ega the wonder's that come most at the top place's) would eventualy builded first.If the gouverment decide's to build three wonder's ,it's the top3 of that vote ,if they see that we could build 4 ,then it's the top 4 etc....

This is a very good poll in term's of how it's constructed ,but i hope that it's absence of a 'other' option doesn't force the voter of voting to build that wonder.

After some review, I've voted for Dreadtown for our new wonder, simply because it is inland and well defended, with good production. This is not a strong vote, however; simply a preference. Where it gets built is not that important to me at this point.

Athenae seems a good place to me. We don´t have any good production cities, so we really need to rely on caravans anyway and that makes Athenae as good a choice as the others.

We should also start building it in THDP so we can switch to Copernicus once it gets availible. I am not sure I remeber the shield cost of it, but I think it is 300 shields. That makes 6 caravans, which concidently is what we have now. If the Mongols already have Astronomy I think we should try trading for it. They will probably not accept that, but it is worth a shot.

Yes, with our food caravan production alive and well, we probably could. And should. But we are short of time regarding Copernicus.

We also currently have the ability to build Sun Tzu's, don't we? That's another wonder to consider.

The Romans and Zulus have Astronomy. Not the Mongols.

Too bad that we are at war with both of them.

I have to agree with the sentiment that Duke O' York mentions. This poll is probably premature - I would have thought a presidential poll or internal ministry poll regarding WHICH wonder to build would have been good to have as a precursor.

In fact, I don't think we should have any city build Bach at this time (doesn't seem to be a choice). Save those caravans.

I would suggest we get some of our mighty crusaders over to that Roman city and kick some Ceasar butt. Take that city and Astronomy along with it. Then, use those caravans for Cope's in THDP. That'll teach them to brag about new techs that they get!

I have to think that we're the first civ to get Theology, so I don't think that there's a huge rush to get Bach's right now. I think we plan to stay in Monarchy for a little while longer, and really we don't seem to be having a lot of happiness issues right now. Hey, I really like Bach as a wonder, and the universal effects will be great, it's just that there is more pressing business - especially as others have started to build Cope's.

If we can get Astronomy as I mentioned, and relatively quickly, I would hope that the AI would have to abandon their projects with nothing left to switch to (though I'm not sure if either civ has feudalism and could switch to Sun Tzu's). It would be nice if they had to waste some shields.
