Cool picture. What kind of stats were you thinking of? Were you going to treat it like a short-range artillery (bombard unit), or as an upgraded Infantry? I could see it as a cheap artillery unit, range 1 but higher rate of fire.

(BTW, the spelling s/b Mortar) ;)
 
I am going to use the attack animation as my InfantryAttackA and change the current one to InfantryAttackB as I have always given the bombardment ability to my infantry and the animation is just perfect.

The AttackA animation will be played before AttackB and it will be used for Bombardment as well. :D
 
The main idea was to make some artillery unit to support paratroopers behind enemy lines. I'm not sure about stats it is up to you.

Explosion... heh. Actually mortar produce almost no explosion so it was just my imagination how it might be.

yeah but it would look better with a big explosion ;)
 
Well. honestly I have no idea how to animate an explosion at moment. :)

Ok fellows, I have the good news to tell ya. I finished the attack animation for mortar infantry. I skipped 2 directions NW and SE because of minor differences between them and W and E. So please feel free to modify my flick if you want it. Now I'm working on appropriate SFX.

BTW I may publish it already if someone desires. Just let me know.
