Recently i have been reading Harry Turtledove's(or somethign like that) How Few remain. Then i thought i wonder how it would turn out in a Civ3 game. Unfortuanately scenarios like that can not yet be created so i figured way to make it nmost interesting is by making a NES out of it.

For some other notes, in this NES, each Real life day is equal to 1 month. the story begins in 1887 after the Confederacy as acquired two mexican Provinces. We can continue the story after the intro as soon as we have people for the USA, Canada, England, France, and the Indian Nation. All other nations are optional. Post on this forum if you want to join.

Here's the Civilizations:

Confederate States of America
Leader: Pete Longstreet (EQandCivFanatic)
Alliances: Indian Nation, England, France, Canada
Enemies: United States of America
Government: Democracy
Military Strenghth: small standing army, but many volunteers availible, virtually no navy
Notes: The CSA has the best generals the world has ever known with the exception of Napoleon. This should be taken intop account when describign a battle in between the CSA and the USA.

United States of America
Leader: President Blaine (AnarchyRulz)
Alliances: Germany
Enemies: Indian Nation, England, France, Canada, Confederate States of America
Government: Democracy
Military Strength: Large amounts of Calvary scattered around the United States, medium navy, many volunteers availible to use has ground troops
Notes: Socialists have been slowly gainign power in the USA and may become the dominant party. Utah territory's Mormons are almost in open revolt and may attempt to found their own nation.

Dominion of Canada
Leader: ?
Alliances: England, France, Confederate States of America
Enemies: United States of America
Government: Republic
Military Strength: about 3 true Canadian divisions scattered along the United States border; large navy in the great lakes; most of army depends on British troops
Notes: Quebec in Canada is close to revolt and may become an ally of the USA

Empire of Mexico
Leader: ?
Alliances: None
Enemies: Indian Nation
Government: Monarchy
Military Strength: small army with large amounts of volunteers availible, no navy
Notes: Mexico has already declared that they would remain neutral should war break out and have trade agreements with both the USA and the CSA.

Indian Nation
Leader: Geronimo(?)
Allainces: Confederate States of America
Enemies: Empire of mexico, United States
Government: Tribal Conceil(republic)
Military Stfrength: Tribes scattered all around with many forces inside the United States and mexico raiding
Notes: The Indian Nation cannot trust anyone, their best hope for survival would be to make it so that the white men kill eachother off and ignore the Indians

England
Leader: ?
Alliances: Confederate States of America, France, Canada
Enemies: Empire of Germany, United States of America
Government: Monarchy
Military Strength: Gigantic Navy, many elite forces stationed around the USA for raids in case of war
Notes: England has been the CSA's strongest supporter but has been angered that the CSA still has slaves and may take that into account should the CSA enter into any war. France may be the same except to a less extreme postition

France
Leader: ?
Alliances: England, Confederate States of America, Canada
Enemies: Empire of germany, United States of America
Government: Republic
Military Strength: medium navy, large standing army which would take about 3 months to arrive anywhere where they would do any good
Notes: France and Germany may become involved with a war in Europe. They have had a long lasting hatred of eachother and may fight eachother again

Empire of Germany
Leader: Trickey
Alliances: United States of America
Enemies: England, France
Government: Monarchy
Military Strength: Gigantic Standign Army, whic hwould take 5 months to be fully assembled in the USA to give support, small but powerful navy
Notes: Germany is a neutral ally of the USA and usually takes no part as to not anger England and france

That is pretty much how it stands in the way of nations. As a side note the Indian Nation does not have its own borders. They are bands of tribes that live within the Confederate States. With notes about possible revolutions, the Territory of Utah is almost in open revolt because of dicrimination against mormons. In the Confederacy, Negros following the preaching of Abe Lincoln, who is in this alternate world a communist may also begin to revolt against their white masters. Now time for the intro:

The year is 1887. It has been over 20 years since the Great War of Succession. The Confederate states have since acquired Cuba and two Mexican Provinces. Abraham Lincoln is preaching the ways of communism to the oppressed miners and factory workers of the West. George Custer is a colonel in the USA Army. He is testing Gatling guns, which are the predecessors of machine guns, against the Indian raiders which terrorize Nex mexico Territory. General Stonewall Jackson is in charge of the Confederate Armies and Jeb Stuart is commander of the Western Army. Tensions have been continually rising in between the USA and the CSA as the first Republican president since Abe Lincoln has takign charge of the USA. Once again North America is on the outbreak of war.

You might find some trouble getting players if many people have not read the book (I have, but am not currently interested in the game).

I would suggest either scanning in the map from the book or trying to find it online somewhere so everyone can see what the national borders look like.

I have been trying to do that, problem is i dont have a scanner. As another problem there is no where online that i have been able to find that has a picture of the South and the North during the Civil War.

I have decided that their are no good maps of North America that are downloadable. I decided it would be much easier to describe it. First get out a history book or a book about the Civil War. Then look for a map of the Civil War. There you go, a nice map. Sorry i cant post a good map but i cannot find a map of North America anywhere.

Here, I thought I'd help you out on a map. This is actually from Great War: American Front not How Few Remain but it's pretty much the same thing. I'm sorry that it's a little small.

Thanks the Great War map was the one i was going to use anyways.

Okay now as another note England, France, and Germany are in the same places as on a world map so no need for them to be shown on the map. Now that the map is shown i hope some people join.

BTW sure Tricky you can join.

Okay, well too bad. I can't really start a story till i got someone for the USA. Trickey, if you feel like it i would not mind if you switched to England, France, the Indian Nation, or the USA. All others are not as important.

hey, I'll be the CSA or USA. Whatever is open. If they r both free i'll be Confederate States of America.

Good i am CSA and am suffering from a major case of writers block. Mind starting the story?

I am officailly abandoning all interest in this story as it seems to be dying anways.

Ill be France

lol its not open its been dead for abotu a year now i just wanna know why it died :D

lol sry i diddent read the dates or the above posts

lol, this was a long time ago, it was going to be a board game NES. However if there is interest I could consider reopening it as a story NES.

So would I. I love alternate History.
