First, my apologies again for the late proposal. I simply couldn't do the game analysis before this morning.
This proposal (edited from citizen feeback) will become the turn instructions for the May 17 turn.
Renegotiating ROP's:
These are all 10 to 11 turns away so won't come into play this turn.
Renegotiating Peace Treaties:
This is something I had not proposed before for several reasons. First, we've been at war for most of the game so generally didn't have the option. Second, we were not secure in our territory for a while after the war ended, Third, we were concentrating on conquest of America and Egypt.
We are now in the perfect situation for renegotiating Peace Treaties. There are many beneficial effects to doing this. It gives us 20 turns of peace with the people we renegotiated with (much stronger than trade deals and even ROPs for keeping people from double crossing us). We are the number 1 civ so WILL get nice stuff from renegotiating. Renegotiating peace deals actually increases the AI civs opinion of us. It goes on the books as an active deal for 20 turns.
The following Peace Renegotiations will be proposed:
Aztecs - we get 15 gold + World Map
Zulu - we get 10 g + WM
Bab - we get WM
India - we get 3 g/t +6 g
China - we get WM
Iroquois - we get 13 g + wm
Greece - we get 4 g/t + 8 g
Rome - we get 41 g + WM
Extorsion:
We are also in an excellent position to extort the people we don't like. My prime candidate for this is Babylon. They have Banking and we're going to have it next turn. By next turn I expect they'll have sold it to anybody who can pay. If we can extort it from them (they are at war and weaker than we are so should pay without a problem) we save a turn of research and can undercut the Babylonian sale of the technology.
Many people don't use extorsion as it's an iffy thing. Unlike trade deals, you can't tell if it's going to work until you do it. In my experience you can always extort from a civ if you meet the following conditions: They are Cautious or worse towards you, you are higher on the power scale and you are higher on the score scale.
The following extorsion will be proposed:
Babylon - Banking
Cultural Assault
Monies gained through the renegotiations and sale of Banking would ideally be put towards rushing a temple in Macao, if the additional funds can be drawn from the discretionary budget.
