ROP= # turns left in ROP
Peace = # turns left in Peace Treaty
Turn 0
Remove ROPs with Zululand, Babylon and China.

Turn 1
Attempt contact with Aztecs. Sign a peace treaty. Peace for Peace is acceptable. Some tribute is preferable. Repeat this each turn until Peace is achieved.

Turn 4
Renew Peace Treaties with India, Iroquois, Greece and Rome. Iroquois and India should be straight Peace for Peace. For Greece and Rome, figure the maximum we can get and then take half. Take their treasury before using g/t.

Contingency
If the Aztecs draw another civ into this war before we can get peace, get alliances asap in this order: Rome, Greece, Iroquois, India.

Just wondering, how many world wars have there been so far? I think there was atleast 1.

Proposal sounds good - but the 'contingency' is a big one.
If we don't get peace then I guess there are 2 further military contingencies:
1. prolonged war with just the Aztecs - in which case we should consider an expeditionary force, with certain specified goals, OR
2. World War - big time military considerations, depending on how the cards fall

It should work out to be just prolonged war with the Aztecs. We're keeping the world at very low treasury levels so there should not be another "Domino" war. With our standing in the world it will be very expensive for the Aztecs to get anybody to declare against us. The contingency plan is just in case they are able to hire a hitman.

If we do get trapped in a long term war with the Aztecs I'd recommend taking a large city and giving it to Greece. Greek culture should be able to hold on to it and it will give the Aztecs a much more "real" enemy to worry about.

If we end up in a prolonged Aztec war, then I agree - we should send an expeditionary force with the aim of taking Xochicalco. Utilising our forces in the vicinity of Justinian we could approach via Greek territory (avoiding Babylonian territory).
2 further points here:
1. I would prefer to "sell" our conquered city to the Greeks - they will probably pay handsomely and happily.
2. We should commence our march asap - it will take several turns to reach Aztec lterritory, and we can always turn it around if we can get a peace in the meantime

OOps - well I guess the "sale" is off then.

How about the expeditionary mission though (from Justinian, via Greece and with the option of recall)? We would have to deal with the 2 Aztec units in close contact fist (of course), and also ensure proper defensive units remain in the Justinian/Macao area - especially given the possibility of JSB's Cathedral. I still very much support a quick Peace with Aztecs, but if we are to make a tactical stab at the Aztecs I think we should get it under way sooner rather than later. Xochicalco looks like the best target I think.

Long Term, Conditional
If we are forced to continue the war with Azteca, our goal will be to sieze a large Aztecan city with the intent to turn it over to a bordering enemy of the Aztecs.
