See, that's me lost in the jungle in Bolivia. Nobody bothered to tell me that Che was captured so I kept fighting 5 years after. They thought some crazy old man was shooting trespassers cause my aim sucks. Then when they caught me they found a 5'3'' midget, laughed, and sent me home.

Good job sween32,
I dont care how inaccurate the unit is:lol: . Sorry, i just read the other thread for this unit and it seemed like they were giving you a pretty hard time. I couldn't resist. This pointy-straw-hat clad soldier would be nice as the "conscript" unit im making for my mod. Basically really cheap genaric soldiers with a -1 hit point penalty. And for those guys who said it needs an AK-47 to be accurate, you can just say its a soldier from the French-Indochina conflict in the 50s, where they did use bolt action and other surpluss and obsolete weapons from WWII. :frog:

"Condemn me. It does not matter. History will absolve me." - Fidel Castro

Its funny, because its my belief that after Fidel kicks the bucket:sniper: , Cuba's going to become a rich and prosperous island nation with a free market economy and their main export will be Cuban cigars. Under Fidel's regime Cuba's main export has been Cubans. And he'll be remebered as the man who stole a half century from their history. Just a thought I thought I would share.

Well done - very nice looking - will use your unit as chinese infantry in my mod.

Thanks for the compliments! One of the reasons why I made it like I did and didn't make it completely "historically correct" was because it could be used in dozens of ways. Whether it be Chinese Infantry or what have you.

I completely agree with you. Thomas Jefferson called Cuba a beautiful fruit that will never fall in our hands. They're resources are amazing, and their people even more so. I use that quote not just because it was said by Castro, but because of the meaning and the way all leaders are remembered. Take Napolean for example. He was a malicious conqueror, and now he's often referred to as one of the more distinguished leaders and generals in history. Who knows how Castro will be seen in a hundred years. Through his eyes, he saw himself saving Cuba from becoming the next Las Vegas with millions of rude American tourists every day. I highly doubt that he will be a hero, although he would be if he kept on with the Cuban Socialism. After he took power, Cuba flourished more then it ever had, but power went to his head and he destroyed it... and you can all blame it on the Pittsburgh Pirates not signing him ;) sorry... i'm a bostonian... gotta be biased towards other teams...

Wasn't that Japan? After WWII?

If you're referring to the name Charlie, I believe the racial name Gooks *pardon me* came from WWII and was later used for the Vietnamese.

no - i was referring to the bit about a soldier not knowing the war was over and continuing to fight for 5 years. That wasa japanese soldier on some island after WWII.

Really? That really happened? I just made that up!

Actually, I remember watching a Bugs Bunny cartoon on the internet that was banned from tv. He was shipwrecked on an island full of Japanese soldiers who didn't know the war was over. He blew them all up with ice-cream bombs and so on. At the end he was screaming for help to get off the island after they were all dead, but he found a flirty female rabbit and wanted to stay.

I also saw a banned Donald Duck cartoon where he dreamed he was a Nazi. His job was to put the bombs and bullets together. And through the entire cartoon they were singing some song about how they work their ass off and give up freedom because the Fuhrer tells them to. Off course, he flips out like only Donald Duck can. Then he wakes up, looks out his window to see the American flag, and solutes it.

Excellent. Not only did Thomas Jefferson love Cuba, but the Italian mob did too (for the vacation spot reason you mentioned. Alcohol, speakeasies, and prostitutes galore!). And if Italians like it, its gotta be good! Napoleon was indeed an ambitious conqueror, but he did many good things as a leader of France too. Like he unified the still medieval laws of France that changed sparatically as you moved through the different regions of that country into a single, national, and logical code of laws (no more goofy laws ie. in some parts you could be burned at the stake if you wore pants on your head or something stupid like that). He also started the first public school system in France and gave the idea to America. Your analysis on Fidel is great though. Most people dismiss Cuba as another crappy country and dont realize it has so much potential.

P.S. Its crazy how history could of changed so much if he would only have been drafted into the majors!!

I'll see if I can find the site again, and download them to put it on my website.

those were hilarious. I thought they were banned before i saw them because they were to lenient to the enemy. But it was actually because they were so racist towards the enemy. The Donald Duck one was the best.

Thanks for the link, and great unit work.

Wow! This has to be my most popular unit so far! It took forever for the other 2 to get that many downloads. I'm glad you guys like it, I figured NOBODY would use it!

Sorry I had to reply to the comment about cuban cigars.....
Economically they are the same as illicit drugs; a black market item. They are so pricey, because they are illegal. Once the trade embargo is lifted, they will be as cheap as dominicans, and the glamour of the cuban will die off in less than ten years. Secondly, Only in combination the the United States has Castro stolen 50 years of history. If the US lifted the trade embargo tomorrow, Cuba would be capitalist in 3 years. Even Castro could not stop his peoples desire to make money. He is an old man now. He can only continue to hate America for the multiple attempts at his life.

Make money, not war.
