Idea to increase poll participation

Part of the problem with poll participation is that a lot of them get overlooked. How about a "Poll Advertisement Thread"? This would be a sticky thread in the poll sub-forum. When you post a new poll you would add a reply to the Advertisement Thread with a link to the new poll. People could subscribe to that one thread and get notified whenever a poll is posted.

another idea: make out of this an index-thread.
one will update the first post with all active polls. inactive poll should be deleted (maybe a job for the mod(s)?).
another thing:
the posts there should be standardized. link, description, running-time (start can be seen from post-date).
and it should of course be the ONLY sticky thread there.
 
Discussions will be too much work i think. The thread will soon reach the maximum posts-limit and noone will find what he likes. You will also only be notified of new threads.
Its easier too look thru the new-post indicator.
 
Another idea for the poll-thing:
The result of the poll should be stated in the original post after the poll ended (edit of the original post). The result should contain all options as % and the number of votes placed in the poll.
