Ok, i've seen a lot of people talking about how bad war weariness is in democracy. I don't know about anyone else but here's what i do. I trade for all luxories that i can. and even with 20 cities size 25+ and only 10% in luxory tax I can go through a 100 turn war without a problem. this is on warlord so that may have some effect. Also note, my game is not modded in any way, and I have yet to even open the editor. I just say get about 8 lux's and you're set. :)

That is all sound advice. Also make sure you build all of the hapiness improvements and marketplaces and banks so that your luxories will have more effect.

That doesn't work. After a couple of turns of war, the luxuries had no effect and all those happy people I counted on to keep the cities productive suddenly became content, leading to riots all over my cities. From then on, I've never played Democracy except with a religious civ.

aside from decreasing war weariness, you have to take into account the conduct of making war in a democracy. Do not start wars. Try to make swift, incisive invasions. War weariness increases with the amount of units you have on enemy territory.
You will find that in higher difficulties, you will be lucky to get 8 luxuries at any point in a game, let alone with the financial situation of a war.

If you are in a democracy, it is difficult to be a warmonger.
