Welcome to the forum for the seventh province, Scythia!

The history of Scythia is a long, honored one, so I shall make this a quick description. Currently, the province contains 3 cities under Phoenatican control: Sparta, Corinth, Cumae. Sparta and Corinth were founded and captured from Greece. Cumae was founded by Rome. There are five other cities in the area designated for Scythia, controlled by Babylon: Athens, Thermopylae, Knossos, Argos, Mycenae. There is also a Zulu saltpeter colony.
As for the state of our cities, they are small and comparatively undeveloped.

This growing province needs a city formally selected as its capital.

I, myself, would be inclined to suggest Cumae, because it is not right on the border, but, as it seems, our governor is located in Corinth, which would make for a more risky, but still suitable spot.

I don't see this issue covered (selecting the capital) in the constitution, so I guess it would be ok for the governor just to select one?

Selecting a capital for a province is something purely for the fun of it. Personally, I've always liked (in real life) small, out of the way, towns. That's why I chose to live there.

If we ever (or should I say when) capture Athens, I'd move there.

So, what you're saying Octavian X, is that at this point, Scythia has no Capital city. You have not even named a temporary site to hold your Provincal Government? I'd like to know strictly for logistical purposes.

Like Cyc said, you could have a 2nd, temporary location. (like a 2nd best city) until we capture Athens.

If the you all insist, a temporary seat of government shall be placed in Cumae, under a tree, as none of the towns have courthouses. I don't mind a commute.

Also, thanks for the offer, Josh.

:)

It has come to my attention that I am the only person who lives in this provinve. That is partly explainable: I control the smallest, oldest, most underdeveloped cities in the nation. So what if we don't have those fancy marketplaces and libraries and running water. Who needs that stuff? I mean, we have lots of incense (the smoke surrounds Corinth all day).
That said, come live in rustic (yeah, that it, rustic) Scythia!

I like traveling through the Scythia Province. It is very scenic and does have that rustic heritage feel to it. Were I not tied to Kashmir and Istar Provinces, I might consider a home here. I love living in the countryside.
Oh, BTW. when last I traveled Scythia, I noticed a large parcel of land 4 tiles NE of Sparta that was unclaimed. As Domestic Leader, I would like to aquire that land for Phoenatica. Even though our Cultural borders may expand far enough to capture the land unaided, I think another small town there would be appropriate. If you concur, please consider switching the build queue in Cumae to a settler after it completes its Marketplace. Possible help with a partial rush may be available later in the turn chat.

What do you think, could Scythia use another small town?

It has come to my attention that I have accidentally named my province after a race of savage warrior people who live in Asian Steppe, the Scythians. Before anyone thinks that I am a horsemen who drinks the blood of the first kill in a battle, or who allegedly takes the skin off his dead enemies and wears it, I'd just like to say there is not connection.

That was one of the proposed locations in my PEP thread. I think the city site was on the hill (SE-central).

If I'm understand this correctly, the city would be on a forest of jungle, I can't tell which. I will approve the construction of a settler in the city of Cumae, upon completion of the city barracks.

That's the last huraah of the PEP (Passive Expansion Program) from the 2nd Domino War days. Site 1 will fill out that hole, site 2 will leave 1 tile unchecked, but but closer for a cultural assault. (we have to act fast though, to gain on the Babylonians). Hopefully, the war is over soon, and culture can be rushed there.

Notice how China and the Iroquois were once fine nations... :)

I will look into this immediately.
