Should we Go on the Offensive against the Iroqouis?

I'm setting up two polls to officially determine general stradegy against the Iroqouis.

In this one I'm essentially asking if we take the offensive and take cities or just defend our own lands, not seeking to take a single city enemy city and keeping the fighting on our own lands.

The next will if we should prusue the war aggressively, (better explination in that thread when posted).

if the results are "Yes" then we will seek taking Iro cities, and the results of the second poll will be used

if "No" then we will seek only to attack units in our borders and make no effort to take a single Iro city.

This poll is set to close in 4 days, and the results at the begaining of the next turn chat will be the official results.

I will agree to the offensive, but my approval comes with a condition. Any offensive started should be ended when the Iroquios are ready to accept peace in which we would surrender nothing to them.

crabbaple, you should make some "Remember PDX" posters to instill nationalistic pride. (that is, remember what the Iroquois did).

While deeply sympathetic with the citizens of PDX I am mindful of the long history of Phoenatica as an essentially peaceful nation. We must, for strategic purposes, take the war to Iroquois soil and aggressively hit their cities and resources to acheive a quick ending to the war. But seeking specific cities for retribution or expansion is not in keeping with our fine history.

Again, I see no real reason to strike hard against them. Our victory goal is a peaceful one. We are a Democracy, not a war-tolerant Communism like the Iroquois. Let us not sink to their level and strike when anger overcomes us. Let us not do anything to jeopardize the game we have in hand. Every year we sacrifice to this war plays into their hands - slowing down our science and culture.
