My Fantasy Mod, Ideas anyone?

So anyone here have anything to contribute?

The current list of racial Ideas is:
Humans:
--Mediterranean
--Amerindian
--European
--Asian
--African
Demi-humans:
--Dwarves
--Haflings /Hobbits/Gnomes
--Sylvan/wood/green Elves (tree dwelling varieties)
--High/grey/noble Elves (city dwelling variety)
--Shadow/dark Elves/drow (underground/manevoulent)

Humanoids:
--Orcs (multiple races? goblins, snotlings, hobgoblins, kobolds, black orcs, ogres, trolls etc etc)
--Birdmen - - -Buteons?
--Mermen
--Lizardmen
--Beastmen (this can include anything along the lines of:Rat/men (skaven)Cat/men (Caitshee), Lion/Men(Lioneshee), Dog/Men, Wolf/Men, Monkey/Men ...lol ... Pig/Men, Bull/men, Lizard/men
The Volucreth race were animal heads on 8ft human bodies
--Centaurs (Deccaurs, Wemic's, Zoats, Manscorpions)

Other:
Undead or Necromantic Cultists
Demons/Chaos or Demonolgist Cultists

Also alot of Ideas for Individual Troops that could be either UU's or just direct Tech tree units whereby 5 obscure techs lead to the ability to "summon" or "create" these wonderous troops...

Minotaurs
Sasquatches
Constructs
Evil Butterflies

I like how you are making your own world and not having it based on someone else’s.

Interesting Orc is short for Orca (which means large tub, Killer whales) it would be neat to have them whale like humanoids and change Troll to the race for the monsters.

If you have Dæmons I would also have Cherubim (War Angles).

Word is Snoopy's got a fairy tale terrain set that may be released with PTW......

Dwarves rock.Would be cool to control small bearded drunken, axe weilding men (and women!)! Bring on the mod!

I would find playing as underground living elves very enjoyable.

Did people just choose One race, or many races when They voted here? It seems some of you choose only one or two races to play... thats cool and all, but a game with only 2-3 race choices would be rather boring? or were you choosing your favourite race, Maybe I should edit the Poll Tital to Whats your Top 10 Favourite Races....

Deamons should be called "Gargoyles"

Orcs and Goblins are the same thing... According to JRR Tolkien Orcs are simply big Goblins...

BTW: I suggest asian humans too.. they have this ancient-exoctic touch!

Why pray tell, Are not Gargoyles Stone contructs/Golems and Deamons a creature bent on manevolent evil from another dimension?

While I like the idea of having goblins and orcs as one race, It leaves out the distinction between the two, Tolkiens world is but one of many hundreds. I think having a UU for the orcs and or the goblins is a great idea, and also, I've read many novels where the orcs and goblems war against each other

I take it these are 4 that you voted for?

Anyone elses opinion on this?

yeahh. there are many differnet Fantasy worlds out there..

i just thought of the Orc / Goblin thing because JRR Tolkien is the father of fantasy...

He made the dwarves (not dwarfs !!! ) strong people, not like the fairy-tale dwarfs....


ABout Gargoyles... I'm not sure, but in some fantasy worlds - like the ultima game series . the Demons call themselves "Gargoyles"...

But of course this are no strict rules, just suggestion...

It shall be a Fantasy MOD, not a historical MOD, so I would say make it as good as you think...

You will see.. while working on the CivIII files you will have many ideas that will alter the szenario until finished...

I wish you much fun, and don't forget: It's hard work, but it's worth! I'm looking forward for this szenario!!!!

I think JRR Tolkien's elves and dwarves sould be used in this fantasy.

Correction: In the Ultima Series, Daemons and Gargoyles are two different things. Gargoyles are a race of people that have wings and tail but do have their own culture, language, arts etc. Daemons are something you summon from the underworld and they are known only for killing and destruction.

So, gargoyles = living creature, daemons = undead.

Do you mean the game series 0 - 8 (especialy the two Sevens +++) or the 9th part (which I never played) or UO (which I never played too)?
Or do you mean you the books ("The Technocrat War")

My favourite Ultima are the two parts of Seven... - "Serpent Isle" is the best Ultima I think, even if the Virtual world is a bit better in Part One...
And there there live the Gargoyles - winged and unwinged... they are red and the humans call them "Deamons" if they don't like them...
But maybe there are realy differences, and they call them Deamon only as a nickname...

In the books they call them "Juka" and they are Green, not Red, but maybe they are not the same anyway...

Well after 9 months of travelling the world I'm back on a computer, I was wondering if anyone had some more ideas about this fantasy MOD I'm still working on, or Not...

I'm very interested, as I'm working on my own fatasyMod. Like you I will try to get it to be my own flavor.... but as I'm not able to create any units (for variuos resons, artistic incompetense is just one) I hijacking stuff other are doing... ;-)
