Firaxis QA manager Barry Caudill just informed us that the next and the final Civ III patch, v1.29f, is getting ready to ship. They are finishing up the testing process right now and the patch should be released this Friday, barring any last minute problems. We should have the 1.29f patch readMe.txt on Wednesday. Stay tuned!

Going from 1.21 to 1.29 is quite a step...... I wonder if it changes the gameplay at all??

It's not such a big step, really. It just means 1.22 failed testing. 1.23 failed testing. etc. Actually, some of the builds/changes maybe never made it to testing. In any case, it just means this is the 8th iteration of the code to go to testing since patch 1.21f. Does it mean there are gameplay changes? Not in and of itself. It might just mean that a programmer was butting his head against a wall trying to get a patch that worked!

Overall, very nice. I thought it would be alot longer before another patch came out.

Hopefully this is the one with the mini-map editor.

maybe they'll fix naval movement so that it doesn't take 20 years to sail a destroyer from 1 continent to another and back again!!

New Patch!!! This is the one with the editor crap? Hopefully it is, because the current editor isn't very good. Anyway I hope this one is better than 1.17f was. Alot of people went back to playing 1.16f after they played a couple of times.
