Dear citizens.

Serving as census officer from the beginning of the game, i think its now time to give the power-stick of the census to some younger, fresher citizens.

I will need citizens to volunteer for taking over the census office from me. I will put all nominees for a poll then to let citizenry decide who to trust. If they decided, i will then ask the president to appoint this person.

What you must know:
* who the census and citizen registry work
* how to use excel
* how to enter data into the census-files
What you must do:
* be at the forum at least once a week
* review the registry for bogus entries and enter the data into the excel-sheet
* publish statistics
What you must have:
* MS-Excel 2000 or higher

Now who is willing and able to do this job?
Maybe this will also be a training for the next game!

Dis... I would hope that you will remain as cencus manager atleast intill the end of this term.
 
i will be there allways for questions, to spread the wisdom of the elders.
but i would like to have a new officer in duty next term so he/she can learn this game and start of more experienced than i was for the next game.
i hope fresh blood maybe gives us improovements in the processes. maybe i will become honorable senior census officer or something in my retirement home ;-)
 
If you show me what to do, then I would volunteer.
 
a) citizen registry:
keep it clean. review entries. have bogus entries deleted by the mods or pm citizens to change their entries. the old thread will still be used, i will update the 1st post for you.
b) census file:
this is the excel-file in the census-discussion thread. this has to be updated with the new entries in the registry-thread manually (open it. u will see how it works. pivot table knowledge will be usefull).
c) reviews:
in regular intervals, you should review the registry entries to update the census file (for example change of city for an existing citizen).
d) stats:
extract the statistics out of the excel-file as plain-text.

the appointee will have to open a new discussion thread for his statistics, but will be able to use the old registry.
 
Dis, perhaps you should put up links to the threads so the potential volunteers don't have to look around too much to see what they're supposed to do... :)
 
I'd be happy to do this, in fact I already started a Census spreadsheet before realizing it was duplicating an old effort. I'll need a quick run through on the bogus info bit, but would love the job.

Ironic, as when I registered I think I put I was aspiring to work in the census dept....
 
Ok. I have 2+ nominees then. I will start a poll on monday running for 2 days.
So on wednesday we should have a decission on who to be appointed.
Im happy to see so many ppl taking interest in our organizational matters, which makes me think me decission to take back my efforts a bit to get me involved in other parts of the game was the right one.

Im also happy to see these nominees are part of the "new generation" of citizens, who registered not so long ago. The fresh blood will be definitely good for our nation!

Further nominations will be accepted till Sunday night.
