The Iroqunos have been driven from Asphinxia and thier armies crushed. The artillary command centre in Thebes was a vital link in the military communications network.
New Mayors have been appointed to four cities in the Asphinxian heartland, Mayor Philippe of Byblos, Mayor CivGeneral of El Armarna, Mayor BCLG100 of Abydos and Mayor Trader/Warrior of Anyang. This marks a significant step foward in the push to get more citizen input flowing into the Forbidden Palace. Callisto is the only Asphinxian city without a local government.
A unified provincial University system may become a reality, with most cities now containing Universities. It is currently the aim of the Governor and the Mayors to have all Asphinxian cities equipped with a Library, University and Research lab this century. This will greatly assist the National Literacy Program.
The proposed Blue Mountians NP is likely to go ahead pending support for the Phonatican National Parks Service. Several other proposed NP's lay within Asphinxian Territory. The Governor has voived his support, but maintaining that each case must be looked into on an individual basis and approved by the planning offica and the Mayors of any cities affected.

The Ambassador to Greece and Asphinxia's favorite scholar, Ehecatl Atzin, has managed to smuggle a second dispatch from Troy, where he is conducting a diplomatic mission. Mr Atzin is a respected historian and the author of a number of best selling novels about early Asphinxian development.

Preparations for the Grand Banquet of Asphinxia are well underway, with the date, menu, location and attendance list in their final stages. The banquet, the brainchild of Asphinxian Recreation Minister Stuck_As_a_Mac, will bring together the leaders of Phoenatica and citizens from all the provinces. More information and links can be found in the Governor's report. All citizens are invited.
The Demogame RPG has taken off, with a numer of Asphinxian Officails offering to help with the set up. An offer to locate the central RPG bank in Thebes has been submitted. Both S.A.a.m. and Mayor Danke are lending their fiscal management skills to the establishment of this enterprise. A new naming system has been proposed by Strider, in which citizens can include their city of origin in their name. Asphinxian residents are usged to participate.

A proposal has been made by former Governor Eklektikos to change the name of Anyang to Arakkis and move the Spice Trader's Guild HQ to that city. The Governor's Office has offered support conditional upon citizen approval. This would offer great oppertunities for the city of Anyang and the STG. So far there has been little discussion on the topic, with only Mayor philippe speaking out against it. A branch office of the STG has been opened in Elephantine.

The Courthouse of Thebes has been sold and all of it's responsibilities taken over by the Forbidden Palace. The historic building is undergoing renevation and will be re-opened soon as an art gallery.
