GOTM017 Special Award: Best Newcomer (People's Choice)

Beginning with the GOTM017 Special Awards, the "Best Newcomer" Award will be instituted. This award is a People's Choice, because it will be based on input of CFC members.

Here are the GOTM 017 Results.


It is up to each voter to choose how to determine the Best Newcomer. Some may prefer highest GOTM score, others may like their writeup (log), and still others may like their thread participation. All voters may look at the .SAVs in the archives, and weigh that info if they wish.

Because it is up to each person to determine what "best" means, there is the possibility you may consider two or more to be equally deserving. Therefore, you may vote for more than one candidate if you desire.

Note: Error resolution -- if a newcomer has been overlooked (e.g., not in the poll), their next month's game will be used and they will be entered as a newcomer in that month. If someone is listed as a newcomer but is really not, they will naturally not be the "Best Newcomer" winner despite their listing in the poll (assuming they get the highest number of votes).

PS, I misspelled marechal's name in the poll, but I cannot find a way to correct it. Maybe DoM can. The correct spelling is "marechal".

I'd love to vote for myself, but I actually submitted in GOTM16 (although as "Will"). DoM was informed and all the appropriate changes were made.

I'd have to vote for Xarin. SS landing before 1900AD is fantastic. I would have been proud of that. IIRC, I was beaten in space race (although I attempted OCC)
