THE END IS NEAR
Not, I'm not preaching apocylapse. Our last turn chat will be this Sunday, at 21:00 GMT. It is expected that we will reach 1828 A.D. It is also possible that we will lauch a spaceship.
After the game ends, a new one will begin on September 1. During this down time, discussions will be held on changes that need to be made to our various laws. As of now, the concensus among the citizenry is to keep the current Constitution, Code of Laws, and Code of Standards. Some, however, advocate getting rid of these altogether and starting from a clean slate.
Another topic being discussed is the very name of Phoenatica itself. Few people advocate keeping the name, however a majority of people want to rename our nation for the new game. Suggested names are Phoentasia, Phan, Netkurrian, Tziephczia, or Fanatic (translated to our tribe language). These names were selected from a larger list. The place to vote for these it here.
In a new game, we also need to chose new parameters. One of the most important parameters being voted on is our new civilzation. The choice was narrowed down to Babylon, Germany, and random. At the moment, it looks like we'll be Germans. In the other parameter votes, random is basically winning all. The opinion is that in real life, civilzations don't get to chose there surrounds.

Adjustment to Quorum Level Underway
After a heated presidential election, an uproar still exists. It isn't over the results. According to the Constitution:
The proposal is as follows:
The census would be determined by the average number of votes from all the election. If passed, the census of Phoenatica would be 31.

The History of Science

Science is a key part of are community... You see every single day be it a car or a toilet. The NSD has been the orginazer of science for over 4000 years. Through now the ISD handles the affairs of science. Here is a short history of the two:
The NSD was created by Civanator in 4000 B.C. Civanator headed the NSD through the worlds first age and most of the second. Through his work in science affairs didn't not progress well intill the domino wars ended and even then science research took many long years, but through his sorrow we will not stand where we are today. Without his work we would not have gotten immortals to defeat are enemies in the domino wars. He is known for his creation of the scimitar and many other ancient weapons. He created the armor for are knights which is still on show today in many meusums.
During the first term of are great nation. When Grey Fox was still are president Civanator nominated a Science Chat representive.He became the deputy of the NSD. During Term 3 he became leader of the NSD beating Civanator out in the elections. He is best known for the founding of the ISD which took over the place of the NSD. He is also well known for the creation of the many naval, air, and ground forces we use today.

Changes to our Laws?
I believe that our current system of government is a fine one. I will agree that a few changes are warrented. Otherwise, terms four and five proved that the current Constitution, and Codes of Laws and Standards work very well.
If any issues do need to be addressed for the new game, this would be my only concern. During terms 4 and 5, governors built settlers with the understanding that they would be placed in their own provinces. However, in the new game, governors may be reluctent to build settlers and workers for use around the empire. I would propose some sort of domestic override system, to discussed further later.

The race was not only a close one, but a high vote one also. 51 votes were recorded in the election, setting the quorum at 26. Several citizens have complained about this high number. Disorganizer, who sucessfully passed a new law for the National Park, complained of lots of campaigning just to meet 26 votes.
