Hey, stalin006, how can you vote for yourself, it's not fair!!!

Or it wasn't you

no, i havent voted yet, i need those 2 questions answered first :P, u are mad cus ill win in this poll like in some many on this history section........... well who is pol pot?

It was I who voted for Stalin. I think he is alot worse than Polpot.

The person Lenin didn't like the most in Communist party was Stalin, Lenin was afraid that Stalin could become a chairman of government

I beg to differ Stalin was Lenin's chosen successor, not Trotsky not anyone else, it was Stalin.

The entire communist theory sees human life as expendable for the greater good of the proletariot. while Marx and Easly (sp?) didn't reccomend such sacrifices they certaintly accepted them when they served Communisms needs.

who is pol pot! i need to know

Pol Pot was "Communist" dictator of Cambodia who slaughtered millions of his citizens trying to create a rural and agrarian utopia that conformed to his twisted fantasies. He was brought down when Vietnamese forces invaded because Vietnam had grown disgusted by the atrocities he was committing on his people, and because they were being drowned in Cambodian refugees.

A brief Encyclopedia Britannica entry:

"Prime minister of Cambodia (1975-79). Born in a small village, Pol Pot attended trade school. In 1949 he went to France to study radio technology, where he met Ho Chi Minh and became a member of the Cambodian Communist Party. He returned to Cambodia in 1953 and taught French until he fell under police suspicion in 1963. He spent the next 12 years building up the Communist Party. U.S. anticommunist activity in Cambodia, incl. the toppling of Norodom Sihanouk and a bombing campaign in the countryside, drove many to join him. In 1975 his Khmer Rouge forces captured Phnom Penh, which he ordered entirely evacuated. Even the sick were wheeled out in hospital beds, and in the first weeks it is estimated that tens of thousands died. The ruthlessness with which he pursued his intention to return to "year zero" and create an ethnically pure, agrarian, communist state resulted in as many as 2 million deaths. Overthrown by the Vietnamese in 1979, he led an anti-Vietnamese guerrilla war until he was repudiated by the Khmer Rouge and sentenced to life imprisonment (1997); he died the next year."

My source is:

Communism: a history by Richard Pipes.

"In July 1922 he Instructed Stalin 'decicisvely to 'eradicate' all Socialist Revolutionaries.... all of them -- Get ou of Russia... arrest a few hundred and without explaining your mjotives -'Out you go Gentlemen'."
-pg. 55 (a direct quote from Lenin
"Unlike Trotsky and other Communist Leaders Stalin never questioned Lenin's judgement.... Lenin advanced him ahead of his more intellectual associatesand in 1922had himappointed the party's general secretary"
- pg 43-44
See Lenin had him appointed General secretary.

"Lenin resented my opposition in the name of revolutionary justice. So i called out in exasperation 'Then why do we bother witha Commisariat of justice? Let's call it frankly theCommisariat for Social Extermination and be done with it' Lenin's face sudden;y brightened and he replied 'Well put... that's exactly what it should be... but we can't say that."
-Issac Steinburg (pg. 45-46)

This was before Stalin killed millions, right?

In retrospect to this comment Moltov had expirenced both regimes and the quote reffered to happened years later.

I beg to differ Stalin was Lenin's chosen successor, not Trotsky not anyone else, it was Stalin.
No, stalin wasn't! There were no successors at all, but as a successor Trotsky sometimes is considered. Stalin came to power because of Trotsky's mistakes.
So the person, who lenin wished to be a chairman was TROTSKY!!! Lenin and Stalin were nearly enemies towards each other

Your sources are doubtful: Lenin and Trotsky considered Stalin stupid, stubborn, capricious, uncertain, unable to rule the country

Do you have any sources or are you just going on your imagination?

:) my imagination is much wider:)

I can refer to some sources, but I think those writers are unknown for you: Levandowski, Kosulina, Punski...
I think the view from inside and from outside are always different

mmmh. why is lenin up there? he did some bad but i dont think it can compare to stalin hitler adn all those, if he did atrocities, how many dead? estimates at least

read my posts.

To Bifrost:

Do you not see my quotes of Lenin and Steinburg, i would call them insiders.....

I'm gonna go look at your sources.....

I agree- lenin was just a dreamer, maybe his dreams made us suffer, but he did nothing wrong himself

"I'm just a dreeeeeeeaaameeer..........." - I love this song:)

You can make a case, as have I, that Lenin was a madman. Moltov told us how he *admonished* Stalin for his softness. I trust my sources that Lenin made Stalin General Secretary. I plan to buy Three who made a revolution soon so i have a second source to crush your opposition with.

I beleive that Trotsky and Stalin were rivals but Lenin, in his last days, gave Stalin orders to begin the purges, maybe not on as grand a scale as Stalin performed them but he told Stalin to do it.
I think that he instructed Stalin on how to run the USSR in his last days and that Stalin followed Lenin's wishes are evidence to his closeness to Lenin.

btw... i can't find Levandowski or Kosulina
