Okey here is the the thread for all trades to do with our glorious empire.

1-We will build as many roads to as many resources and luxures in our empire and when we expand we will build more.

2-Continually purse knowledge getting the best deals possible.

3-try to trade technology that will not hinder us e.g literature(great library) and iron working (iron and sworsdmen)

4- try to trade as least techs as possible if they enable getting a resource thus allowing us to move in on them before eveyone else know there, there.

5-Only trade resouces that will not hinder us e.g. saltpeter in the modern age

6-if we trade with one civ trade with evry civ that turn but shop[ around and see which has the best price because the price goes down the more people know it if the civ cant offer us a good deal and it is a not very good tch then just give it to them

7-try not to trade our world maps and territory maps until later on in the game they become more valuable then but always try and trade for maps.

8-Never offer gpt only pay in gold also never accpet gpt froma civ who is furious with us and has a big army and is likely to attack us only accept a sum.

9-we will try to work together with everyone thus co-ordinating our efforts to improve our great nation

Well, this is a given. However, should roads to resources be the most important jobs of our workers, or instead city improvements to let us attain early wonders (The Great Library Especially)?

Again, pretty much a given. However, you say further down we should not trade away techs. What about trading one for another? If it is the only way we can get a tech owned by one of our enemies, should we use it? Personally, I would like to only trade techs in the event that we will get another valuable tech in exchange.

This I agree with, but we should take a hard stance on this. Not "try." Do.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, we might not even need to trade for resources.

If we have vast amounts of excess Iron (i.e. 3 extra), should we not engage in such extremely lucrative trade? Stifling the opposition by denying them valuable resources is all well and good, but should our economy go sliding down the tubes, we might value having made (or being able to make) those trades.

If we do do this, we should do it ASAP, because odds are if we don't trade another civ our excess valuable resources, another will, and the option will be closed to us.

I agree.

I do not agree. If we don't get a few territory maps, it will cost a FORTUNE to buy one of the decked-out, AI-traded maps later on. The scramble for territorial information must be participated in, and if we aren't on top of it now, we will pay for it later.

What if they are far away from us? This policy should be subject to exceptions. What do we have to fear from a landlocked enemy on another continent?

But of course ;).

Octavian X - I'm not sure. I'll have to get back to you on that one :D. Just in case I don't, I still like "Bradenburg Gate".

lol
1-yes we should try and improve cities but if it is a valuable resource then we must aim for it also if it is a luxury
2- well yes if it is a really good tech to trade for of course we will but i dont think we should trade for techs we are reaserching
4- umm i wasnt talking about trading for a resource i was talking about trading the tech of a resource e.g. iron working because if we can see it first it allows us to move in on the resource before the other civ can.
5- i agree but only if it is a really good deal we dont want some really bed deal and then end up having them attack us with the units they ahve built from the reource
7-toasty i said not to trade ours away not to try and not trade for anyone elses butif we hold of longer then our world map will become more valuable
8-well yes there is that possiblity but not a huge posiblity of that happening

@octavian when do i get to name a city?

Please post any turn chat instructions (if applicable) in this thread for tonight's game.

well this is what i have thought of so far if anyone disagrees then say so now

I dont think we should trade bronze working because if we launch an earlier offensive it would be easier against warriors than spearmen also we could trade warrior code but if the babylons are the nly person we know then i dont think we should

I completely disagree. They will get it through other means well before our warriors get to their cities whether we trade it or not.

yes but if we trade first then they will have more time to build up their forces im not saying we should give it away but i think that we could trade it for say alphabet

Our enemies will fly through the early techs compared to us. We might want to concentrate on what we really want to trade for instead of what we will trade. eyrei is right, our tech will only hold value for a short time. Last time I looked, Ceremonial Burial got bumped way down the tech research list. I would like to see an attempt to get this.

In this game, we will not be making a major statement by withholding techs. Until we start knocking some tribes down, we will be scraping to keep up.

Beware the dominos, esp. on Emperor...

Friend BCLG, I pray you to trade for the art of burying things ceremonially (weird things is, Neanderthals and early humans could do this, yet we can not yet?) thus enabling the production of things cultural. Please Master Bclg, For you alone have the authority to try to get this trade to be what will occur. I only ask.

ok sorry for not posting instructions i had a powercut ill look at the save and see what trade i could do unless we already have it im not sure
