Civ 2 and CIV3 foruns have a thread about what is best, CIv2 or CIV3.
Unfair! It's in their foruns and it doesn't have CIV1 option.
Now, let's see the results in CIV1 forum
Fun poll!
I've already made a remark in of the two polls that they missed one option but I got no response, funny isn't it?
You don't have to guess which option I chose here.
I'm afraid that I voted for Civ 2 as being a better game than Civ 1, but I spent so much time playing Civ 1 that I would have no hesitation in saying it is the game I have played the most. For the first year after I bought it, I'd play for several hours practically every day and would then think about the games I was engaged in when I couldn't play it. Fortunately I kicked the habit and it has not resurfaced with Civ 2. Civ was such a groundbreaking game that it is forever a classic and deservedly so!
You admit that you played more CIV1 and you vote in that heresy?!?
That the Game Gods make a selective Virus to corrupt all the CIV2 files from your computer... forever!
I loved Civ with an unhealthy ardour. Didn't relly fall for Civ2 in anything like the same way. Sorry to say there is no way bac from Civ3. Just wish the terrain was renderred the same way as in SMAC.
Yeahh in our poll Civ III clearly looses and the really No 1 game wins.
Of course I chose Civ I this game has it's own flair, own atmosphere. The original game posses this unique "ok only one more turn" factor that nobody else does.
On a side note:
You are right what others have we would like to have too. Perhaps we should create our own democracy game, stories and tales, GOTM, and in the end on our own Civfan-community Site feedback .
Can't bring myself to go back to 1 or 2. Still amongst my fondest memories some of those games. Couple of civ 3 games have come close, but it is a bit easy. Never seem to get invaded in 3, used to happen all the time on 1 & 2, in 3 the AI thinks its clever if it sends a galley with a horseman to your continent.
