I also think a good idea for a subtopic would be: words that sound gross but aren't.

I'll be damned. The conversation came up at the bar tonight. My favorite obscure word: Defenestration, as in: the infamous "Defenestration of Prague"; or, "I'd really like to defenestrate that annoying individual across the bar!"
