Unit request: Inti Warrior (Inca UU)

We seriously need an Incan UU!!!

I would suggest a sling as a weapon.

Heh this would be great... I just stole the jaguar warrior from the aztecs for my game. not accurate though and I have two civs with the same UU. so a real UU would be cool.

Agreed! An Inca UU is definetly needed to go with the great Atahualpa leaderhead.

For now, I suggest using the AoK Jaguar Warrior conversion for the Aztec and use the Civ3 Jaguar warrior for the Inca.

Kal-Al: that's what I'm doing for now but it's kind of hard to explain that on my website with the leaderhead, especially to people who have no idea how to do that stuff.

I think they are all cool! The problem I ran into was in converting my mod to the XP I couldn't use any of them due to copy right issues. So, I had to double up on a lot of the original artwork. My elephant riders and elephant archers have to use the War Elephant animation and my chariot archers are using the regular chariot animation. Similar problems occured with many other units I had added into my mod. Of course this is only a temporary issue as there will be an update available on the DyP website as soon as the XP is released that will have all the "proper" animations available.

compare that Inca warrior on the left with the Civ3 Jaguar Warrior and then compare the Civ3 Jaguar warrior with the Aztec Jaguar Warrior above.

They're both depicting the same figure, obviously. They're also soldiers, due to their wielding of the halberd (quoted below from the Inca-warfare website, thanks sween :goodjob:

The Incas also used the halberd, which was like three weapons in one. It was a long spear with a copper ax blade and a sharp copper hook. With this weapon, the Inca warrior could stab, hack, and snag the enemy as needed.

I know they're Incan, but I can't figure out what they are!! :confused:

BTW, if "my" Incan unit were to be the one everyone agrees upon :cool:

...

1) Methinks it could be modified from the pikeman/jag warrior (maybe even impi) graphics

2) In ordinary Civ3, replace the pikeman, having +1 attack..OR
....In the XP, replace the Med. Infantry, having +1 attack... OR
....In Dyp, replace the Fanatic, having +1 Defence

3) The Civ's color would be on the Cape, spear-tassle-thing, & legging-things

(Allright, maybe I posted this to convince people "my" Incan UU is doable, who knows

)

I've attached an example of how this unit can be made using simple cut and paste.

Just take the Jaguar Warrior, the Medieval Infantry mace (the mace was one of their main weapons), and change the headress a little. Easy. I'd make it but I don't have the time.

it would be a replacement of the Medieval Infantry for the Incas and it's stats would probably be 5/2/1.

Sween, did they use a MACE, or a FLAIL mace?

I've never seen mesoamerican warriors depicted with articulated weapons, though I may have simply led a sheltered life. Feel free to correct me, cause I really don't know.

As an aside, I'd really like to see a mesoamerican warrior with an obsidian-spiked club/sword.
