I would like to see some more flavor units for the North American Native Peoples.

I intend to create a Sioux Civilization and I know some other people are planning on creating other Amerindian Civs. I have heard mention of the Cherokee and the Seminole to name a couple.

Those civs will need new units. The Sioux can use the current Iroquois Mounted Warrior, as that is more fitting for the Plains Indians than it is for the tribes of Upper New York where the Iroquois Confederation was located.

I am attaching some images of various Iroquois warriors, some are Huron and some are Mohawk. I would like to eventually see both a conversion of the scout with a tomohawk (the images to the left) and also a Warrior with a Musket like those images to the right.

A companion unit, one that would work for a scenario set in the Americas during the 19th Century would be this Mountain Man unit. It would work well as the American Explorer unit as well if anybody wanted to just use it as a flavor unit.

Lately I've been scouting out Incan-warrior images (for Sween32's post, http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32079 ), but along the way I've found some interesting items: boats. If anyone's up for Native-American Boat units, here's some images:

Hope someone picks this up soon, be a shame if no Native-American units are made :(

PS: These are actually Incan boats...I'm not sure if they'd apply to North America (unlikely), but they could function as Aztec/Incan/Mayan flavor units.

Some native american units would be nice. I have a theory that Firaxis is holding something like what you want back, like their version of the musketman which wasn't released with the game. Has anyone else noticed that this icon is included with the game, for which no animation existes?

I am surprised that there hasn't been a greater demand for these types of units. I would think that there must be modders out there who are working on scenarios set in the colonial through western eras of North America. These would be good for a French and Indian war scenario too. Or just as flavor units for the regular game.

Alright, I will take on this one. ;)

But it will not be that fast in completion as I am a little busy this month (Have to go around conducting workshops throughout Malaysia :) ). But I generally has an idea how this unit will look like. :D

I noticed that Iroquois warrior in the civlopedia art too. At first I thought it was just the scout.

Maybe its going to be in one of the PTW scenarios. I hope.

Do you think if we ask Mike B really nice he will tell us? ;)

Firaxis better deliver on that promised set of WW2 units!!!

And they better be interchangable with standard units!!!

:D

this dude is known as the "Quale Warrior". i have found some sound files and have used them, but i can,t seen to find this unit.

this is in reg. civ by the way, not ptw.

kal-el you can make units so why not make it yourself? I mean the Longboat was pretty cool.

1. The Longboat was just a conversion of an AoK unit and the Galley

2. I have no time

3. There are many with much more talent and I would rather have a good unit that somebody else made than a POS that I made.
