Join the Great Hunt at the Marillion

You are cordially invited.

What: A hunt and banquet. Local game includes deer, boar and bear. I have also purchased 5 foxes which will be released for the final hunt. The banquet will be catered by the Egotistic Eatery and bartended by the Rebel Pub. Performers and dancing will follow in regal style. Awards will be given during the banquet to the best hunter from each day's outing (determined via random number generator).

Where: The Marillion palace, due east of Valhalla.

When:
General hunt (deer, bear and boar) - Sept 25 and 26
Fox hunt - Sept 27
Banquet - Sept 28

Why: Partially for nefarious political reasons, back room dealings, plotting (I am playing a lawyer here after all), and as a housewarming to break in my new palace. Mostly because it should be a load of fun.

What to bring: Your horse and hunting equipment. Your hunting dogs if you have any. I'll provide everything else.

Accomodations provided: The Marillion has sleeping accomodations for 18 guests in high style. My fine staff will cater to your needs and provide all of the victuals and elegant touches a lord or lady could require.

Also let me know if you have a hunter (horse) and/or hunting dogs and what hunting equipment you have (as this will figure into the random generator to see the best hunter each day). I'll also need your choice of flesh, fish or fowl for your meal at the banquet. (Flesh=beef)

Why you should bring equipment:
Different equipment will increase your chances for different game. A hunter (horse) and/or hunting dogs will increase your chance for every kind of game. A bow will increase your chances for deer and bear. A spear will increase your chances for boar and bear. Each day's best hunter will get an award during the banquet. This is "award" in the traditional sense; a prize of value, not a plaque for the wall. I'll be hunting too but will be passing myself for the awards.

How the hunt and banquet will work:
Each morning (my morning, EST) I'll run the random generator to find who had the best hunt. I'll post a little roast and let everybody know who the winner is for the day. Then it's feasting on foodstuffs from the palace kitchens and whatever the hunters brought back that day. On hunt days there will be a cash bar (Rebel Pub).

The banquet day will be similar. I'll start out with a little speach to get things moving and name the guests of honor. Then it'll be fine dining when the EgoCentric eatery caterers arrive. The Rebel Pub will be tending an open bar. There will likely be some speeches - I'll certainly be requesting a speech or two from the guests of honor. Throughout the feasting I'll be giving out the hunt awards, culminating in the fantastic award for the winner of the fox hunt.

i have a horse (standard issue) and im having strider waiter this party. Ive bout some new non-choke reeds for the oboe. pardon my dogs if they do anything odd durring the hunt.

also- is this in CFC chat room or something else?

Welcome all!

Yes, we will have refreshments and feasting each day. Of course what we're eating for dinner the first 3 days depends on how well we do on the hunt. But don't worry, even if we have a lowsy hunting day, there are many cattle on the Marillion's farms.

We also have accomodations for 18 guests at the Marillion itself so you won't have to worry about traveling to the hunt each day, sleeping out of doors or finding a place in nearby Valhalla.

ill come! i have a shortbow, 40 arrows, animal hide armor, a hunter and 4 hunting dogs.

well i have my occelets all ready for any kill so i dotn need any of them petty bow things

BCLG100, your cats are welcome and should prove to be quite a highlight for the guests. I would not use them on the hunts though. We're going to be tracking bear, boar and deer for the most part. They could get hurt if they come across a bear or boar and would just scare away the deer. Then again, you could go with a small game party. SAAM is bringing his weasel hunters after all.

my occelets are going t kick ass cos the female is just about to give birth soon so by tommorrow we should have a pack of 2 full grown adults some monkeys irish wolfhounds songbirds and 4 or 5 partially grown occelets

i hope you order the drinks at the pub? contact my waiters for an order.

and of course, i will join the banquet as lord-mayor of bavaria. just i will need someone to hold my glass for me.

@disorganizer - I have 3 specially trained servants who are experts at assisting the digit impaired. Hand injuries are so common these days!

The Marillion is too far from Bavaria to place bar orders. We need the pub to set up a bar right here in the Marillion.
