World Trade Center Plane Crashes

We've been attacked! What the hell??!?!??

At this early time in this event, the only news we have is this:

"An aircraft crashed into the upper floors of one of the World Trade Center towers Tuesday morning, and black smoke poured out of two gaping holes, witnesses said. Shortly afterward a second plane hit the other tower. The FBI is investigating reports of plane hijacking before World Trade Center crashes."

All the major news sites are not responding. A radio report suggests "foul play". No S&*T!

There was a report about plane hijack(sp?) minutes before the first craash.
 
LATEST (VERY PRELIMINARY): The Pentagon been damaged somehow. Reports of plane flying low and possibly crashed into the Pentagon.

I think only 2 planes, but Pentagon sustained some damage from the 1st two collisions.
 
What makes it really bad is that people have hijacked the 2 planes. I mean.....these were large passanger planes. Commerical Airlines......They have shut down all the airports in the country...and are landing current flights.

From the radio broadcast, "They have shut down and evacuated Capital Hill, and the Whitehouse..."

Sorry floopa, that's impossible. The World Trade Center is in New York City. The Pentagon is in Washington, D.C. (about 1.5 hour from me ... used to pass by it frequently). Minor geography lesson.

The Pentagon has been hit by a rocket fired at it, and parts of it are believed to be on fire, but not seriously.<br />The World Trade Center (hey, I can write in American!) was hit by two planes, both passenger aircraft and as yet there have been 6 confirmed casualties with fears of hundreds more and many thousands feared injured. I don't think you could say that 2 airliners hitting a building is an accident. Even if air traffic control made a blunder, the pilot could have seen the (once) largest building in the world and avoided it. An aeroplane isn't the Titanic. I say terrorism, but no-one as yet has accepted responsability. This from a British newspaper website at 2.45 British time.

Ok....Facts I have just recieved.<br />-Military planes are patrolling above Manhattan - shoot down anything that tries to leave.<br />- All Takeoffs in the country have been suspended.<br />- Explosion in office building next to white house<br />-Fire in pentagon<br />-Fire in Washington mall.<br />-One of the planes was an American Airlines 767 Jetliner from Boston.

I got to go watch this. (They are letting us go into the break room at work to watch it. <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> )

I'll post new stuff I find out.

I doubt it will start WW3....but then again....that's what heppened in Pearl Harbor!!!

Why the hell would we want that, Juize?! Yeah, as a country, we're full of ourselves, but we don't kill our own people (en masse) so we can fight! That's more like a Taliban-type country to do that.

No, Siggy. My sources say NOT TRUE. Someone blamed Palistinians, but the leader of whatever faction pointed to was quick to get on the media and declare that is absolutely NOT true.

My sources also say FBI suspects Osama Bin Laden. That's the first person I thought of. No big surprise.

About "war" ... not likely. People go to war with other countries. Whatever terrorist faction in any country is reponsible for this, we don't declare war on the country we think they came from (unless the country's government is helping them). That's like attacking America because a renegade group like the Freemen bombed something in your country.

Having said that, if Afghanistan is harboring Osama, they are going to be under unbelieveable pressure to do something about it. We may attack them again.

Anyway, war or not, there will be a retaliatory strike on SOMEthing.
