Welcome to The Academy of Noble and Martial Skills. Our facility is located in the beautiful Seabrake countryside. Secluded to allow our students the concentration they need but close enough to Valhalla to allow them to keep in touch with the world when needed. Our instructors are the finest available in their fields and will work tirelessly to provide you with the skill advancement you need in these violent and uncertain times.

Tuition is set at 25g per class taken. Our instructors are very well paid, receiving 50g per class taught. If you are interested in taking a class or being an instructor, please post your request in this thread.

Discounts
Squires, Knights and Lords of Vanir pay only the instructor fees (50% of normal tuition). Instructor fees are also waived if Shaitan is the instructor. See the Princedom of Vanir thread for a listing of Squires, Knights and Lords of Vanir.

May I aplly to teach the art of the Longbow and shortbows? I am very skilled (level 14) at the longbow and can hit an apple of a tree branch 200 ft. up and 225 yards away. I can also teach the proper way to make a bow, and how to make the sharpest arrow.

@Civanator - We'd be happy to have you. Before we can put you on the official roster you need to report your character stats. You can do this in the Noble Court thread. The instructions on how to build your stats are in that thread in this post.

If you don't get any students you can take courses yourself. A character can't train others and get trained by somebody else at the same time.

I would like to enroll as melee student. how much does that cost me and how long will it take to go up as far as i can?

Ah. Forget it. Just read the rule that i cant train while being trained.

So i will accept shaitan as student and wait till his training is finished to enroll.

Nevertheless, the cost would be interesting for me.

It'll cost 100g per point raised. If you go up a full point in a chat it would be 100g. If you go up a half point it would be 50g. The amount that you increase in a turn is related to the skill difference between the instructor and the student, as laid out in the discussions in the Noble thread.

I think we still should discuss the rule that a trainer having students cant be trained himself. Also, maybe a trainer who trains someone should also get a per-student incread in the experiences he trains. as normally with telling others how to do something you also learn things yourself :-)

(maybe 0.1 raise of the GENERAL skill per student sucessfully trained in a subskill).

Do you need an instructor in the arts of ranged weaponry? The recent tourny showed my master in the arts of the bow, wardart, javalin, and spear.

@gunning1 - Welcome to the Academy. You are enrolled in the Ranged class. Before you can actually attend class you will need to decide on your starting skill levels. See the Character Stats thread for details.

@CivGeneral - Welcome to you as well. You are enrolled in the Shield and Melee classes.

@Plexus - Sorry, no. Additional students will earn you more salary but not more experience.

@Octavian X - We are honored by your consideration but already have a Ranged instructor. We can definitely use you in the related course for WEAPONRY:Hurled. Your fame from taking every hurling event at the Grand Tourney should fill your class up quickly.
