Ok, these three cities are all we have right now. As it stands...

Valhalla - Settler city
Bavaria - Military city
Morgana - Support city

Right now, it'll take our 2 workers 3 turns to build a road (bringing in 1 more gpt). Another 2 turns to reach the mountain by Morgana, and 5 turns to connect it.

That's about 10 turns. We will lose our war funds in 8 turns (40 per warrior - and 2 turns for the last warrior to reach Morgana). Our cash reservs are stripped. If we build a settler, our income and production drop. This is what we have so far:

Short Term

10 turns - Two workers build a road in their current tile, and on the mountain to Morgana.

8 turns - Our war funds are depleted as our last warrior is upgraded. (provided we switch from the settler)

War seems eminate, but I don't know when we're going to strike. I would like FA and Military to provide details in this thread. It's vital to know how to build, and what to prepare for.

Long Term

This goes hand in hand with how we are to expand. We're behind in expansion already, and we have to claim the valuble land around us. I will be making a map of possible city sites (again). It isn't enough to go one city at a time. We have to have a plan! We need to plan which cities are going to be our war production cities, and which cities will be for growth!

For the build queues, Stick with what we have, however, keep Bavaria on warriors until we get that road connected. If the war is going well, we can change it. The next two settlers out of Valhalla should be built close-by. Why build further away from our capital when the Aztecs are already starting to fill up space to the south?

Remember, we have to make the build queues with each city in mind. Not just one at a time. i.e., we want a new city, and the settler will be ready in 6 turns. A spearman might be ready in 4 in another city. How do we deal with the 2 turn lag? What if we want 2 settlers? We need something like spear-warrior-spear-warrior. Or, 2 spears an an improvement.

Once again, thanks for a much needed thread.
We need to go south and west at the same time. I believe the Japanese are our next enemy. So, we head twoards them while beating Monty and filling in the blanks between Barvaria and Azteca. So we build towards Azteca while bulking our military up. Also- see the other Long Term Thread for my "Temple and Library Plan"

But, we need to think before we attack. Not just pick the next enemy at random. True, those gems look inviting... (which is part of the point of my next discussion thread...) ;)

The next enemy may pick us. America has both iron and horses within it's borders. America and Japan grow strong while our soldiers make campfires instead of fight. Bavaria and Morgana should continue making swordsmen and an occasional spreaman unit. Valhalla should make settlers.

I second donsigs opinion.
There MUST be swordman production in both bavaria and morgana. I dont have the stats of both in the head (as i am unable to get down the save at night due to forum outages and no civ at work), but i believe we will be able to build 2 swordmen every 10-15 turns with that.
We will maybe need to switch one of those 2 to temple or other happyness improovement in between, which will be possible of both build military units.
Valhalla and all other cities we will get in the north sould build settlers/workers.
The aztec cities we capture will need spearmen first, then propably a bit culture.

Here's my plan for the build queues. And the thread explaining how to tie them in with our current expansion plan. (still being discussed)

War Expansion Plan

Valhalla: settler (1), settler (6)
Bavaria: warrior (2), warrior (2), spear (4), warrior (2), warrior (2)
Morgana: continue swords until further notice.

Once we get the iron connected, we can change the warriors to swords.

Good point. A road would be much more useful in a forest.

Otherwise, this plan looks good. Perhaps a defensive unit should be built a litttle more often to be dispatched to guard new cities.

As for the next enemy, I would seriously consider America. The land they occupy is closer, and more fertile, than that of Japan.

Ok, my updated plan:

Valhalla: settler (1), settler (6), (start a settler if the war is going well, otherwise barracks for swordsmen)
Bavaria: warrior (2), warrior (2), spear (4), swords
Morgana: continue swords until further notice.

Continue roading the forest SW of Bavaria, then road the forest west of Morgana with both settlers. Then, depending on where our 2nd city it, mine the grasslands west of the eastern city, or, road the game on the western city (hill) - mine/road cattle afterwards.

We could really use some workers instead of the second settler in Valhalla. How about:

settler (1), worker(3), worker(3), (start a settler if the war is going well, otherwise barracks for swordsmen

I disagree with the worker idea. Building a settler is critical lest we fall hopelessly behind the rest of the world in productive capacity.

I say Valhalla keep producing settlers and we use our other cities to produce workers whenever possible. Also, I think the likelihood of capturing workers from the Aztecs is high.

Valhalla HAS a granary, which doubles growth. That's why we built it. We should only build workers after the 2 settlers are built. One nation (Rome) has NINE CITIES!!!! We only have a wimpy 3! Most others have 6 or 7 cities. They'll be expanding fast in no time. I suggest we start too.
