This is the debate thread for legislative candidates (governors). Here are the questions:

ALL CANDIDATES
A two part question, answer briefly please: How do you feel about turn-chats and is your position that they should continue as is, or do you favor the concept of private/closed door turn sessions by the DP?

What qualifications and experience do you have for the position you are running for?

If you are given the chance to name a city, what would you name it?

Are you familliar with all of our laws?
Do you abide by them?

Question for younger candidates: Hypothetical Situation - You totally fail a math test. You realize that this effects your grade in a big way. Which would you do? A- Study harder, even if it meant loosing forum time; or B- Let your grades plummet and continue on with the demogame.

How do you stand to the proposal of having very small provinces at the start to get to about 10 governors quick and then redesign the provincial borders for having a solid number of about 10 governors throughout most of the game? (formerly known as the "Provincial Growth Formula")

Explain in one sentence why the citizens should vote for you instead of your opponents.

What difficulty level do you normally play the Civilization 3 game at?
If not Emperor or higher, do you feel comfortable playing at an Emperor level in this game?

Do you have a working Civilization 3 game patched to version 1.29?

LEGISLATIVE CANDIDATES

Do you have pride in your province? What does this mean to you?

Would you allow National Parks in your province?

Are turn chats a luxury or a nessessity for a Governor?

Turn Chats are the most important part of the game aside from the citizens of the game. We should continue to use them and never go to close door/private sessions. We pride ourselves on giving the citizens their voice and aside from the forums this is one of the best ways for them to be heard.

What qualifications and experience do you have for the position you are running for?

I have been a governor already. Demogame 1

If you are given the chance to name a city, what would you name it?

Well i was sposed to name a city once before but never got a chance due to constant bickering over city proposals, the name was used but im going to have to come up with a new name. But i promise it shall be a good one

Are you familliar with all of our laws?
Do you abide by them?

I am very familiar with the rules, altho with some news ones out there, its getting harder to keep up, and yes i abide by them to the best of ones abilities.

How do you stand to the proposal of having very small provinces at the start to get to about 10 governors quick and then redesign the provincial borders for having a solid number of about 10 governors throughout most of the game? (formerly known as the "Provincial Growth Formula")

Right now i support smaller provinces, but that may change

Explain in one sentence why the citizens should vote for you instead of your opponents.

I will make sure that the province is never neglected

LEGISLATIVE CANDIDATES
Will you support RPG in your province?

Honestly i havent been the biggest supporter of the RPG, but the RPG is the will of the citizenry, and altho i do not play the RPG i wont stop anyone from doing so in my province as long as it doesnt interfere with the Demogame itself

Will you give mayors the right to post build queues?

Yes

Which other rights will you give to mayors?

I would make my mayor a chat rep, just to make sure that if i wasnt there for the T/C someone would be able to voice the concerns of the province

How do you think you can manage to involve citizens in provincial decissions?

I would post discussions for them to post their views and ideas

What makes a good Governor?

Anyone who doesnt neglect their duties.

Do you keep in regular contact with the other citizens of your current home province?

Sometimes

Do you have pride in your province? What does this mean to you?
Would you appoint mayors?

I feel the Turn Chats are fine the way they are. They allow for the players to somewhat influence the game as it is being played more than DG1's closed Turn Chats with the 'update' chat room.

What qualifications and experience do you have for the position you are running for?
I was the governor of Ameri, mayor of San Francisco, and Deputy of Foreign Affairs in demogame 1.

If you are given the chance to name a city, what would you name it?
I was thinking something along the lines of Plexenburg.

Are you familiar with all of our laws?
Yes, I have read the constitution several times over.

Do you abide by them?
Yes.

Question for younger candidates: Hypothetical Situation - You totally fail a math test. You realize that this affects your grade in a big way. Which would you do? A- Study harder, even if it meant loosing forum time; or B- Let your grades plummet and continue on with the demogame.
I would have to choose option "A", I would still do my job as well as I could, but if it came down to my future or the demogame, I would have to favor real life.

How do you stand to the proposal of having very small provinces at the start to get to about 10 governors quick and then redesign the provincial borders for having a solid number of about 10 governors throughout most of the game? (Formerly known as the "Provincial Growth Formula")
I have never liked the provincial growth formula, and I made it known in Demogame 1. I think a nation with 20 cities should be ruled by 3 or 4 governors, and a nation with 40 cities should be run by 6-8 governors (etc.).

Explain in one sentence why the citizens should vote for you instead of your opponents.
Citizens should vote for me because of my experience in the demogame and my ability to get people to work together.

EXECUTIVE AND LEGISLATIVE CANDIDATES
What difficulty level do you normally play the Civilization 3 game at?
I usually play games at the Monarch / Emperor level but I do throw in the occasional Deity.

If not Emperor or higher, do you feel comfortable playing at an Emperor level in this game?
Yes, I feel completely comfortable with the Emperor level.

Do you have a working Civilization 3 game patched to version 1.29?
Yes, I have a fully patched game.

LEGISLATIVE CANDIDATES
Will you support RPG in your province?
I am already active in the RPG and will continue to do so as a governor.

Will you give mayors the right to post build queues?
I will allow suggestions but I will change mayoral queues if necessary.

Which other rights will you give to mayors?
I will allow some landmark naming along with their say in how the province is handled.

How do you think you can manage to involve citizens in provincial decisions
I will involve citizens in provincial discussion through my signature and RPG related events. I will pm if necessary to get my citizens to participate in provincial discussions, maybe I'll start up a newsletter.

What makes a good Governor?
A good governor is much like a good leader except the citizen's opinions should take priority over the governors.

Do you keep in regular contact with the other citizens of your current home province?
As all of the current citizens live in Bohemia, I keep in contact with most of my neighbors.

Do you have pride in your province? What does this mean to you?
I hold a very strong bond with my province, and take pride in it.

Would you appoint mayors?
Unless if felt very strongly against the mayor's ability to serve his or her province, I would accept all mayoral applications.

Would you allow National Parks in your province?
Only with the tile owner/ citizen's permission would I set up national parks. I also wouldn't make a national park if it would hinder the growth of Fanatika.

Are turn chats a luxury or a necessity for a Governor?
Governors who can make it to turn chats should as it is necessity for governors/ chat reps to be at turn chats.

If offered a leader position and a governor position; which would you take?
I would take the leader position because; I think I could do more for Fanatika as a leader.

A two part question, answer briefly please: How do you feel about turn-chats and is your position that they should continue as is, or do you favor the concept of private/closed door turn sessions by the DP?
I have stated before that I believe that the game should only be played in a tc.

What qualifications and experience do you have for the position you are running for?
For President? I've been VP for the second term. Though, throughout both demogames, I've been governor, trade leader, and chief justice, and am currently Mayor of Morgana. I've served in all branches of Fanatikan government.

If you are given the chance to name a city, what would you name it?
Octavinium. A simple name, though some say it's hard to pronounce:D

Are you familliar with all of our laws?
Do you abide by them?

Whatdya think? As a self-proclaimed expert on our laws, and Chief Justice for 1 and a half terms, I hope I know our laws!
And, having never been investigated, I know'em pretty well too.

Question for younger candidates: Hypothetical Situation - You totally fail a math test. You realize that this effects your grade in a big way. Which would you do? A- Study harder, even if it meant loosing forum time; or B- Let your grades plummet and continue on with the demogame.
Grades first, demogame later.

How do you stand to the proposal of having very small provinces at the start to get to about 10 governors quick and then redesign the provincial borders for having a solid number of about 10 governors throughout most of the game? (formerly known as the "Provincial Growth Formula")
I don't like it. Our provinces should be established one by one.

Explain in one sentence why the citizens should vote for you instead of your opponents.
I'm and excellent, knowlegible, leader, and an all around nice guy:D

LEGISLATIVE CANDIDATES
Will you support RPG in your province?
Of course! Supporting my province in the RPG is a great perk of the position.

Will you give mayors the right to post build queues?
I will give mayors the right to propose queues and start discussion. However, I will retain the final say. If I do change something that a mayor wants, I will always be sure to give a reasonable explanation, and I will back up my decision with polls and discussion.

Which other rights will you give to mayors?
I'd let mayors, perhaps, help name landmarks, and consult them when I have trouble coming up with new worker actions, etc.

How do you think you can manage to involve citizens in provincial decissions?
I can start discussions and polls frequently in all matters involving the province.

what makes a good Governor?
A good governor makes his decisions based on what has been decided on by the people. He frequently takes input, and always has his queues posted well before the next turn chat.

Do you keep in regular contact with the other citizens of your current home province?
If that includes all of this discussion, sure. Anyway, all citizens live in Bohemia.

Do you have pride in your province? What does this mean to you?
I am very proud of the first province, our capital. From its glorious mountains, its magnicient grasslands, the wide open plains, the beautiful beaches, and the great forests of grand trees, Bohemia is surely a wondrous place.

Would you appoint mayors?
As an appointed mayor, I would appoint mayors.

Would you allow National Parks in your province?
This is a tough one. It would depend on the area, as well as the nation's state.

Are turn chats a luxury or a nessessity for a Governor?
Turns chats are not a nessessity for governors, though I believe that a gov's attendance does help smooth things along considerably smoother.

If offered a leader position and a governor position, which would you take?
It really depends. For the game's sake, I would take this positions if I already had a deputy to replace me.
