Riders from St. Mark's Point and it's reclusive Duke, Octavian X, bring news of a great tourney. Warriors from near and far come to participate. Peasents from the surrounding countryside and cities flock to cheer their heros, and in anticipation of the great feast. Fanatikan nobility come to join in the revelry.

This is the Tourney at the Augusta Palace. Here, participants may drink freely of the beers of the Rebel Pub, and dine on the delicacys prepared by Cyc, and the Bavarian Smokehouse. Not to mention the fresh doughnuts from the Backery of Plexus. :D

The feasting is free, as long as you a contestant (you don't really think I'd give away doughnuts for nothing? :) ) This tourney will have fewer events then that of the Marillion, but does offer a new one: The Field of Honor.
  • Archery. Requires: Bow
  • Grand melee - Everybody gets into a big square. The last one to yield wins. Requires: armor, shield, sword.
  • Grand brawl - Same as the melee but unarmed and unarmored.
  • Steeplechase - Over hill and over dale, jumping obstacles and ducking branches. Requires: horse. Due to the lack of flat land at St. Mark's Point, this event will be held in Vanir.
  • Field of honor - single combat, single elimination (duel statistics) until a champion is decided.
If you have iron armor, iron sword, iron shield, longbow or a hunter horse please state so. All contestants will be assumed to not have these items (or not have brought them) unless they state so.

Please, sign up, and come to the Tourney at the new Augusta Palace!

Archery - WEAPONRY: Ranged
Grand Brawl - DEFENSE: Unarmored, WEAPONRY: Melee
Grand Melee - DEFENSE: Armor, DEFENSE: Shield, WEAPONRY: Melee

Steeplechase - HORSEMANSHIP: Steeplechase
The Field of Honor - DEFENSE: Armor, DEFENSE: Shield, WEAPONRY: Melee

High Joust - DEFENSE: Armor, DEFENSE: Shield, HORSEMANSHIP: Speed, WEAPONRY: Melee

Please view the below Excel file. Check for inacuracies.
Also, check the competition scores section. If you signed up for an event, but have no score there, you will not be eligible.

Cyc, Prince of Manitou, would enter your Tourney. The events that I will participate in are Archery and Steeplechase.

I have a Masterwork English Yew Long Bow and the finest Hunter in the Land. I shall be bringing both.

Plexus, Baron of Zimt, Knight of Strandberg, would like to enter your competition.

I wish to participate in the following:
Grand melee
Grand brawl
Field of honor
Archery

I have a custom iron longsword, an iron sheild, and iron armor (heavy mail and leather).

Ok, the Knight of Lancre will sign into:
Grand Melee
Grand Brawl
Field of Honour

I have all weaponry required. Detailed post can be seen on registry and item-inventory.
Code:
1 plate mail (heavy armor)
1 chain suit (light armor)
1 helmet
1 floom
1 big shield (for fighting)
1 long sword
3 small shields (for jousting)
3 lances (for jousting)
all weaponry and armory is iron.

Question:
would you like to organize a high-jousting event as part of your tournament? i would like to offer the district of lancre as place to do it.
the only thing would be that you would have to do the calculations and the writeup.
i would be willing to offer 600gold for the winner, 300 gold for the 2nd place and 100gold to the 3rd place as prices. I also would pay for the drinks the paticipants of that event consume.

The newly crowned King of Fanatika will also participate. I will try my hand in each event. I come equipped with a long bow, iron armor, shield and weaponry as well as a hunter who can give Lit a run for the money.

In addition, I will add 500g to the Steeplechase prize. 250g of that for the winner and 250g for the last place finisher. Let's get some people competing here!

Not intending to threadjack as this does somewhat apply:

All characters get a single main or sub skill of their choice raised to the next higher full level at the end of each term. Please state your choice in the STATS thread (link in my sig) before I update them on Monday.

I would like to participate in this tourney.

Please enter me for the Archery contest and the Grand Brawl.

And could someone point me to a retailer who handles longbows? I need to replace my trusty, but well-used shortbow, and feel the longer range and penetrating power of the longbow would go well with my already fine accuracy of shot.

:D

Duke Octavian, the House of Aegir intends to make a showing in this fine tournament of yours. Please sign me up for the Grand Melee, if you'd be so kind. Of course my armor is of iron (a fine craftsman Master Eyrei is) as well as my sword and shield (I am after a swordsmith and weapons developer.)

Oh, and Lord Padma, you can buy longbows at the Futuristic Weapons Shop should need be. Inexpensively, I might add.

And I have noticed that the Knight of Lancre has entered. Just figured I would announce that I will NOT be hit from behind again. Can't wait for the combat to start, Lord Octavian.

I am glad to see such interest in the Tourney. As for an entry fee, I will request a slight fee of 50g to help pay for the various monetary prizes I intend to bestow upon the participants. Also, I will consider disorganizer's request for a joust.

I would like to announce my intent to participate in the archery event, with the shortbow that won me the prize at the last tourney.

I am accepting the enry fee. If a high-joust event is held, i will of course be participating and not request my own prices :-)
So if for example i win the 1st price, the 2nd will get the 600, the 3rd the 300 and the 4th the 100.

Thanks for the tip, Grandmaster. :goodjob:

I have purchased the necessary equipment, and now go to practice before the tourney.

:D

I'll just assume that people are okay with the entry fee. :D

As a note, the Tourney will begin on Wednesday the 6th, around 7pm EST. The feasting will begin subsequently that day :D

Yes, the entry fee is fine by me.

Sir Octavian, i presume you are accepting the high-joust event i proposed?

If yes, could you please update the 1st post to reflect this? Also if yes i would like all knights to register for that event which is the highest event possible for knights.

Please Sir Octavian also maintain a list of participants in a post :-)

Perhaps a high joust is in order. It would certainly be an excellent way to celebrate our newly conquered lands.

Also, the post will be updated once the forums aren't as busy.
