825 B.C. - Turn Chat Instructions - Monday, 4 November

4:15 AM EST? It's a Monday nite and I'm sure most ppl( in the US at least) will be asleep. Also, I noticed you lived in Atlanta. Would you really want to get up at 415 for the TC? On second thought, I hope its a typo and is really 4:15 PM EST.

Also, is there a turn chat schedule for this month? I need to know so that we can find a chat rep if needed.

I think Cyc instructions are precise and pretty much what i wouldve done as well so im gonna post his up.

Bavaria - Sword (c), Spear, Spear, Sword
Valhalla - Settler (c), Spear, Settler, Spear
Morgana - Sword (c), Spear, Spear, Sword
Kuhkaff - Spear (c), Settler, Spear, Settler
Tlaxcala - Worker (c), Temple, Barracks,
Bremershaven - Barracks (c), Temple
Tenochtitlan - Temple

Workers can be handled by the DP.

Tile analysis
Bavaria - Switch from plain wood tile in south to roaded wood tile in south east (1 more gold). After 2 turns switch from one wood tile to the lake. After another turn switch from last wood tile to roaded grassland. After one more turn (swordsman is built) switch back to the two roaded wood tiles.

Valhalla - Growth in 2 turns. New tile worked should be bonus grassland to west (worker unit is there right now).

Morgana - No changes.

Kuhkaff - Growth in 6 turns. New tile worked should be roaded bonus grass to northeast.

Tlaxcala - When intruding archer to south is displaced, use the cow tile.

Bremershaven - Growth in 9. New tile worked should be forrested game.

Tenochtitlan - Remove worker from plains and put on floodplain to southwest. The 1 production from plains is lost to corruption so this gives 1 more food per turn. Growth will then be in 6. New pop will likely have to be an entertainer. If not, work another floodplain.

Also rename Tenochtitlan to Eklektochtitlan

Sire, I am distressed to report that none of our cities have any culture worthy of the name!

The presence of the Palace in Bavaria keeps us from being dismissed as total oafs, but most other nations laugh at our total lack of cultural prowess. Indeed, only the Chinese are impressed with our puny culture.

The most urgent need for culture, is, of course, the captured Aztec cities. They still feel strong ties to their former culture. (I am pleased to note that their once-proud capital is building a temple to the Fanatikan gods.)

While I understand the exigencies of war, I implore you to begin building cultural improvements in all of our cities as soon as practical.

Science Department Instructions

Continue the path to lit.... If that is completed move onto poly.

My Instructions are as discussed in the Military Dept. Thread.

First order of business, the Full HP Vet Sword in Tenochtitlan should take out that Archer to the NE of the city, to minimize loses, much easier to attack a Archer than defend against one, esp. with a Sword. Also there are no Aztec units close enough to attack the sword before the next turn, from that position

Unfortify the Sword at Valhalla, and send him packing for the front, unless there's something I'm missing about him.

After that we're gonna have to wait a turn, to regain movement, as the remaining Aztec archers and Jaguar's undoubtably "test" the defences of our city, or in the case of Tenochtitlan, he may pillage our farms and roads near the city. Afterwards, we need to move the 3 Sword unit north of Teotihuacan down to the next mountain to their south. (Thank God for multi-tasking as I try to spell the Aztec city names right).

The Next turn the swords on the mountain will go to the Insence tile Hill, the turn after that we'll take the city.

Once the Aztecs between Tlaxca and Teno (I'm getting lazy) are gone, send one sword south to Teno, when all are at full health send them to the city in the west, leaving two swords behind.

If the Mountaineering unit (3 swords to the east) needs reinforcements they can be provided by Teno. These units can also be added to the Assault force on the western city.

When you attack the city to the west, remember to try not to attack across the river if avoidable, I think the forest NW of the city might be a good location to launch the attack from.

DO NOT LEAVE A CITY WITH LESS THAN 2 SWORDMEN to defend it.

After this prepare at Teno for an assault to the west next t/c.

If someone declares war on us please take it to the forums immediately

PLEASE ask me any if ANYTHING is unclear.

Foreign Affairs Instructions

Continue prosecuting the war against the Aztecs.

Domestic Instrustions

Set the science slider to 0% and change the entertainer in Tlaxcala to a scientist.
If (as I believe should happen) Tlaxcala is subsequently starved down to 1 pop point, set the set the scientist back to working the land and change the citizen in Tenochtitlan to a scientist instead.

Send our current settler to found a city on site A as marked on this map.

Send the next settler to found a city on site D as marked on the map below:

I am working on a table tonight for possible trades. I may or may not have it done tonight, if I don't post later tonight, there are no instructions from the Trade Department for this TC.

Dear Mr. President,

As a leading citizen of Tlaxclala I have been chosen to formally appeal the instructions of our beloved Domestic Advisor. In his zeal to bring more gold into the treasury without compromising our research efforts he has polled for a proposal to reduce the science rate to 0% and hire scientists in our fair city. Unfortunately our city cannot both support scientists and feed our people. As we have no surplus grains removing even one laborer from the fields will cause great starvation among our people here. While it is true that the people here were restless under our rule at first they have since come to accept the Fanatikan way and are now content to be part of our great empire. Nothing good will come of starving these poor wretched Aztecs at this point. We would be much better off using the discontented citizens of the old Aztec capital as scientists. Even our esteemed (if somewhat entrenched) FNSD leader has called for the scientists to be hired in Tenochtitlan (or whatever it's called). Unfortunately he did not post this in the turn chat instructions even though the hiring of scientists would certainly fall under FNSD jurisdiciton.
I hesitate to do this but do remind you, Mr. President, that you are free to call a vote ot overturn the domestic leader's instructions for the betterment of Fanatika. Should you do so and the domestic leader be the only one present to vote it is our hope that he will see the error in the proposal and vote to overturn the poll.

Good luck and God speed Mr. President.

Would there be a chat log by any chance?

Edit: Oh, I see the chat is still going on. I thought I had read something about a two hour chat limit. Was it my imaginatin or is Shaitan late for work now?

Yes, be patient donsig. ;) Shaitan said he took off from work today since his wife is sick or something.

The Turnchat ended 510BC after 15 turns.
DP was shaitan, the president.
Chat took from 10:12 to 13:53 GMT+1 (about 4 hours)

Zipped Logfile (timestamps in GMT+1)

important note quoted from the log:
<ShaitanInDisguise> Aztecs now offer math, code of laws, lit, map making, polytheism and the city of Tlocopan. They have no gold
thats the offer the aztecs gave for peace. just to keep people without access to the save updated in a timely manner on decission wheter to use this offer for peace with aztecia.

Will there be a poll on making peace with the Aztecs?

Frankly, I'm rather suprised about the length of the chat...
15 turns...

On another legal note, the CoS requires a preturn save and a save after every 5 turns. If the chat was 15 turns long, a preturn, turn 5, turn 10, and final turn 15 saves are needed. Please remember this next time.

A quick question. When is the next T/C? I need to know so I can figure out when to complete a project for the Trade Department.
