It is time for us to consider establishing embassies in the other nations' capitols. We have emerged from our war with the Aztecs victorious, but we may need friends and allies if we are to be as successful in the next conflict.

There have been a few proposals to date for the establishment of embassies (these are in now particular order):
  • Establish embassies in Russia, Babylon, China & India for potential allies against Japan
  • Establish embassies in England and France for potential allies against America
  • Establish embassies in Japan and America so that if one attacks, we can call the other to join us to prevent us from fighting a war on two fronts
Below is list of the costs associated with each potential embassy. Unfortunately, we do not have access to unlimited funds, so we must prioritize. Please select your top five choices for which nation we should establish an embassy with first.
Code:
[u]Civ[/u] [u]Embassy[/u] [u]Diplomatic Status[/u]
England 40g Peace ([color=orange]Annoyed[/color])
France 55g Peace ([color=orange]Annoyed[/color])
Russia 68g Peace ([color=orange]Annoyed[/color])
Babylon 64g Peace ([color=orange]Annoyed[/color])
Persia 78g Peace ([color=orange]Annoyed[/color])
Zululand 68g Peace (Cautious)
Rome 57g Peace ([color=orange]Annoyed[/color])
Egypt 75g Peace (Cautious)
Greece 84g Peace ([color=orange]Annoyed[/color])
Azteca 27g Peace ([color=red]Furious[/color])
America 38g Peace ([color=orange]Annoyed[/color])
Iriquois Nation 57g Peace ([color=orange]Annoyed[/color])
China 51g Peace ([color=orange]Annoyed[/color])
Japan 40g Peace ([color=orange]Annoyed[/color])
India 41g Peace ([color=orange]Annoyed[/color])

Note: This poll is purely informational. It is intended to establish a general feel for which nations we wish to establish relations with first. The top vote-getter will not necessarily be established first.

We Should build embasies to Nations that do not pose a significant threat to us.

Embassies to our immediate neighbors, Japan and America, should be our first priority. We need the ability to quickly form an alliance with one if the other attacks us to avoid a 2 front war. We also need the ability to succor assistance if our own agressive actions falter.

Japan and America first.

Then England,France and Babylon (or Russia).

England, France, America, Japan and Rome.

Mainly because they're our neighbors, AND... we need a potentially strong ally like Rome. I would have picked Russia, but they seem too far away, and hindered by Babylon.

Not to mention, we need to see if any of our neighbors start a wonder.

It depends on our war plans.

If we will be targeting Japan next, then I recommend immediate embassies in America, Babalyon, Russia, China, and India.

Due to the results of this poll, the Foreign Affairs Ministry will be requesting 118 gold from the domestic department to establish embassies in England, Japan and America. In the meantime, I will post a confirmation poll on this subject since this poll was informational.

Thanks to FortyJ for posting this one.:goodjob:
