Science Discussion- The middle age's

Now that we've hit the middle ages what should we do? All discussion and idea's are encouraged.

Here's what I think would be good:

Build libries as fast as possible.
Live off the affects of the Great Library intill education is aquired. Then up the science rate and hope the libries and the new science rate is enough to keep us at a nice fast research rate.
Trade only deadend techs and other's that will not increase the AI's research by much. Thus we can stay in the top in research for longer.

I agree with you, but what if we couldn't raise the science rate high enough to stay on top?
Maybe we could have the 0% reasearch idea and buy our way through the tech tree.

We will not get a high enough research rate to stay ontop. We just need a research rate that will keep use ahead for as long as possible.

I prefer the 0% science strategy period. It's much cheaper to purchase technology than to research it ourselves.

I like the strategy that Strider has proposed. It will keep us just a little bit behind with the research of our rivals.

Yes it will, but at a much higher cost than 0% and purchasing the techs from the AI. If we can BEAT the AI then I say invest whatever's necessary. I love being a science broker. Until we are in a commanding position to do that (and it has to be VERY commanding at this level of play) anything we spend on our own research is a waste of resources.

Shaitan.... After the affects of the Great Libarary are completed and up in are research rate could be the most helpful. Yes, buying techs from an AI would be better in most cases, but once we acquire education we will be tied (or at the top with two AI's close behind us) in technology. We need to do something to keep ourselves at the top. The Libries might give us a good research time at 10%.
