Birthday whoas...

I was just PMed, someone wanted to know if my B-day was really December 31, 1969, and since I never changed my profile, I said no, and looked at my control panel.

The correct info is there, October 25, 1962, so I figured it was nothing, but I looked at my profile through the profile link, and it says....

December 31, 1969!

What gives TF?

That's strange. I checked your detailed profile page in the control panel and it's correct there. Must be a vB bug....

It isn't in the birth day calender either: http://forums.civfanatics.com/calendar.php?s=&month=12&year=2002
You can always look at the bright side though: it appears that you're seven years younger

I've seen this bug before on home made PHP sites, maybe it's something with the database.

I do not know where is the bug casuing it, but evidently its effect effect is to use the VBB default start date.

00:00 Jan 1 1970 = UNIX epoch = 000000000000 UNIX timestamp

Unix timestamps are how many seconds have passed since 00:00 Jan 1 1970 (which is therefore 000000000000 as a timestamp)...with vB, dates (such as birthday, post times) are inserted as timestamps. however, when for some reason data is not passed on correctly, then the data entered will be equal to NULL, which is 000000000000 as a unix timestamp, which is 00:00 Jan 1 1970

Hmm...yes, when I click on your profile AoA, it says Dec 31 1969.

Usually when people lie about their age, its to appear younger!

I've seen a couple other ones with that default birthdate in the profile screen.

I figured AofA had just 'convinced' everyone to change their birthdate.

Hmm, just noticed that on mine, too. My control panel says the correct date, but when I click the "profile" button on one of my posts, it says Dec. 31, 1969. Shaves 15 years off my life!

I think this bug only affects people whose birthdate is before the default date of Dec. 31, 1969. I had this bug happen to me on another forum. If I check MY birthdate in my profile, the bug should have bit me. I'll edit this post afterward with the answer.

Edit: Suspicion confirmed. I got the bug, too. My actual birthdate is June 14, 1964.

Yep, that is correct, I removed the year, and now the correct date is displayed.
