I nominate the guy who has been vice-president and has done so well in that function ( ;) ) for our new president: Octavian X!

Gary Nemo for domestic advisor, or maybe Gary wants to take up to be president now? I nominate him for both jobs because in both he'll do an excellent job.

Ainwood for military advisor.

Ren for foreign advisor.

Rout for science advisor.

I nominate Civ1-addict for Domestic Advisor, myself for Foreign Advisor, and second all Civ1's other nominations!

I'll admit, there isn't exactly much to the job... I just periodically pop in and post some comment I hope is useful.

Might as well make it a monthly think... I humbly accept.

I'll decline the nomination for President and accept for Science Advisor (in the fine tradition of Queen Jayne). As I think his talents are quite suitable, I nominate Rout for Military Advisor. (Or am I just worried that he'd be a formidable electoral opponent? ;) )

GaryNemo for President (He just has to be the president one day, imagine all the fillers...)

Leowind for Science minister

I am very leery of being President, in that I would be far more cautious than any President we have had thus far. My son thinks my plethora of units doing nothing is ludicrous. More importantly, I admire all previous Presidents in their respect for our Democratic Process, and do not want to ruin Our Game. Sometimes I wonder if I am doing that just by posting. Therefore, I nominate Jayne. She is excellent, and seems to have the time.

I also think a change of Domestic Advisor would be refreshing. I have been mulling over running for Military Advisor. If nothing else, I will remain a Watchdog of Productivity. I believe Nominations remain open tomorrow, and so neither accept nor decline anything.

I will go for Science Advisor.

Now the game is so much bigger than when I first became President, finding time to play the turns and post uninterupted is much harder. If I was to be President again, I would only be able to play turns Monday and Friday mornings when Lucy is asleep.

I would be happy to be Vice-President, and let Octavian have a go in the driving seat.

I accept the nomination for military advisor. Looks like an interesting time in our history is approaching!
I decline science.
I dont think I have anything to add to the nominations this late in the day, but all the above have my blessing.

Just a question, but why do we no longer have governor elections? We used to have them in the previous democracy game for awhile...

I think Govenor elections are a good idea. Otherwise the Vice-president and deputy domestic advisor should be expected at least to have a governorship, unless they are standing in for the full-time people.

PS Dell: Congrats for getting to 5000 posts!!! Are you the first?

Technically second but Shaitan had alot more but them he lost his spam posts...

We really should have governor nominations or a separate thread for them as it seems a bit silly to elect most of the government and then just let anyone become a governor. :)

I accept my nomination for Domestic Advisor. I hope Civ1 wins, and if so I will help him and NUF as he wishes. For example, if you like my reports and analysis, you could still have them by voting for Civ1 ! The change in leadership may prove refreshing.

I thank the People of NUF for making my last goal come true, "F4 in Term4". Thanks to MonkE extorting Bridge Building from the Indians, the debate over Boreum River Bridge Filler has been reduced to: how soon can we build the Bridge there?

Regarding Governor elections, I agree with the Dukes that we do not need them. You're the Governer of Boreum anyway, Dell19.

Not anyone can be Governor. Dell19 and Jayne and others, Serutan Civ1 and Funxus, are approved as potential Governors. I had a list somewhere last month, and the newly elected Domestic Advisor will surely refresh the list. My criteria: frequent posts and care for NUF!

As Governors, you are entitled to run for President. That is our Common Law which I posted last month, and which has not been contradicted. Right, Duke?

Yep. The Constitution was updated to reflect that after the last round of discussions that occured in the forums. If we had 20+ people running for positions in the game, we could try and have elections for Governors, but as is right now, volunteerism is the only way to try and do it.

Nominations will close in about 12 hours or so.
